Best snorkeling in Ko Tao (comparable to Nang Yuan)
We stayed here for five nights as a couple in April 2026.
We came to Koh Tao primarily for snorkeling and chose this resort because we could enter the water directly from the property. It turned out to be absolutely the right decision. During our stay, we joined a snorkeling tour that covered six different spots, including beaches we had considered staying at, and it only reinforced how strong this resort’s location and house reef really are. The property also shows thoughtful attention to environmental sustainability throughout, which we appreciated.
The staff are consistently warm and welcoming. While some are not fully comfortable in English, communication was never an issue.
We stayed in a corner room with an ocean-view balcony, which was very comfortable. The air conditioning worked perfectly, and the hot water in the shower was reliable.
The breakfast buffet is excellent, with an omelet station, rotating Thai dishes, and even dim sum. There are also lighter options like fresh fruit and chia seed pudding, plus a proper espresso machine. We ended up having all our meals at the resort and found the food consistently good. The room service bento box was also a convenient option.
There’s a spa offering massages and facials, a beautiful pool bar with a view, and a gym, so it’s easy to spend your entire stay within the resort. Complimentary activities are plentiful as well—yoga, Muay Thai, art sessions, cocktail making, movie nights, and more.
Most importantly, the snorkeling here is outstanding. The best spot is behind the pool, where you can also catch the sunrise. Being alone in the water while the fish become active in the early morning is a truly special experience. Even during the day, the beachside offers an impressive variety of marine life—you won’t get bored even after several days.
If you’re staying in Koh Tao for a few nights, I would choose this resort without hesitation. (We also spent five nights on Nangyuan Island afterward, and the snorkeling quality here is easily on par—this place really holds its own.)
There is a complimentary scheduled shuttle from the pier, which is standard on Koh Tao, and going into town is easy if you want to.

オーシャンビュー・バルコニー付きの角部屋は快適。エアコンが良く効いてシャワーもお湯がしっかり出ました。
朝食ビュッフェがとても充実していて、オムレツバーを始め、日替わりのタイ料理や点心まで揃っています。各種フルーツやチアシードプディングなどヘルシーメニューがあるのも嬉しいポイント。エスプレッソマシンもあってコーヒー党も満足。私たちは町に出ず食事は全てここのレストランでいただきましたが、どれも美味しく感じました。ルームサービスの弁当ボックスも良かったです。

Beautiful and amazing Sai Daeng Resort
We spent five wonderful days at Sai Daeng Resort. We stayed in a Poonsuk Pool Villa on the most beautiful mountain/half island overlooking Sai Daeng Beach and Au Leuk Bay. The view was completely fantastic and the villa was lovely. Authentic and luxurious. The kids liked the private pool at the villa and they loved the resort pool.
The beach is a whole story in itself. It is definitely worthy of a postcard - beautiful, private and scenic. Best of all was the direct snorkeling from the resort’s own beach. You should not go further than 5-6 meters on the left side of the beach and then it is overwhelmed with colorful fish and corals. So beautiful.
The garden of the resort is also beautifully decorated with beautiful trees and flowers in many colors. Fantastic view with the twisted mountain trails as a background.
A big thanks to the fantastic and present staff, who helped to give us an unforgettable experience.
We would love to come back another time!

Authentic - Atypical . Like
This is our 2nd stay in this resort, the last time was more than 6 years ago ... the hotel is still as imposing clinging to the mountain, and very atypical with these bungalows in the form of small detached houses that blend totally into the vegetation. The 2nd nights we were by the sea room 405 and as the hotel was full we had to change rooms for the last night, it is funny, we came back to the same room as 6 years ago! The 1st bedroom, the one below, was directly on the sea, a little smaller in size than the 2nd, with stairs to climb to access, but a magnificent view directly on the beach, on the deckchairs and close to the restaurant for breakfast. The 2nd bedroom was much larger, with breathtaking sea views, and in the heights therefore need a cart (which is taken to the reception ) to get there or then on foot for the bravest. In this resort the beach staff, pool, restaurant or reception is really at the top and with little care . The breakfast is very good and the view from the beach is sublime!! I also recommend the pool which is simply great with a great view and super comfortable beds!! My only downside would be that the hotel would still deserve a little freshness in places or a little ravalement especially on the terraces and tables of the restaurant which are a little old ..the rate per night, in February (high season ) is still 300 € for this type of room..., I think it is important to bring a little freshness especially on the railings and wooden seats of the terraces of rooms (see photos) The carts are not electric... that too is a shame especially in this type of resort in full vegetation and quiet ... when you are at the pool , you can hear the motor of the cart every time it goes up or down...it is also missing a shower on the beach ... the shower is only at the pool ... but you have to go
That being said, I highly recommend this property, which remains, for me, one of the coolest, most authentic and most typical of Koh Tao.
A piece of advice: It is better to have a scoot to move for more freedom because the very lively center of Tao (Sairee beach) is about 10 minutes from the hotel. I also advise against invalids, too old or with small babies, because we only go up or down steps, it is a sport on a daily basis!! But it has its charm!! You can feel it in your legs at the end of the day The gym is great too and the treadmills look new!! Go ahead!!!!
That being said, I highly recommend this property, which remains, for me, one of the coolest, most authentic and most typical of Koh Tao.

A relaxing 10-Day stay with beautiful views and great amenities
I had a wonderful stay overall and would definitely recommend this resort, especially if you're looking for a relaxing getaway surrounded by nature.
The location is absolutely stunning, with breathtaking ocean views and a peaceful atmosphere that makes it easy to unwind. The natural sounds of the island were one of my favorite parts of the experience, so noise was never an issue—in fact, it added to the charm. The resort is beautifully designed and very well maintained. Since it is built on a hill, you will get your steps in, but free buggy rides are available if needed.
I stayed in a Deluxe Ocean View Villa, which offered excellent value for the price. The room was spacious, comfortable, and had incredible views. While I noticed a few minor details that could have been cleaner, the overall standard was very good.
The amenities are outstanding. The yoga classes, Muay Thai sessions, gym, pool, and other activities create a great balance between relaxation and staying active. The opportunity to snorkel in two different bays is amazing and adds a lot to the overall experience.
The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay, and the service was consistently good. While English can sometimes be a barrier (as not all staff members are fluent), everyone was willing to help and did their best to assist. The food offered a great variety of authentic Thai dishes, although I found the Western options to be below the standard I expected from a resort of this quality. The free daily shuttle service to town is a great addition and provides more dining options.
Overall, this is a beautiful resort with an amazing atmosphere, excellent facilities, and great value for money. I would happily stay here again :)

Tip top
Spent three days at the resort and everything was tip top. The snorkeling was great right outside the hotel. Breakfast and restaurant very good. Well worth the money! Recommended.
