XANADU Beach Resort – Coral Island (Koh Larn Island, Thailand) is a good beachfront property with kind staff.

I am a regular guest at XANADU Beach Resort,
Coral Island (Koh Larn Island, Thailand),
and I continue to return because of the beautiful location, kind staff, and natural beauty of the property.
This visit, I did not see the regular General Manager, but Ms. Ramita took excellent care of me. She personally recognized me and remembered my reservation, which she had handled through Facebook booking — a very professional and personal touch. On arrival, I met Ms. Ramita and her front office team, who were polite and welcoming.
However, I only received my room key at 2:00 PM, which meant almost a two-hour wait, with no flexibility for early check-in. That was disappointing.
I received a good room price as requested — end building, upstairs room # F 12 with breakfast.
The island is truly beautiful ️, the beach is lovely ️, and the surroundings are peaceful.
The roads from the ferry port to the hotel have improved a lot since my last visit — bigger and newer roads now, which is a big plus.
The hotel truck kindly picked me up near the ferry port at the Lord Buddhist Temple.
✅ Positive Points
• Very kind and friendly staff throughout the hotel
• Excellent housekeeping service
• Beautiful island and beachfront location
• Friendly restaurant staff
• Management clearly tries to maintain the property well
⚠️ Areas That Need Improvement
TV Channels Issue
The hotel lists 30 TV channels, but only about 20 work.
Important international channels like BBC, CNN, and FOX TV do not work, which is disappointing for international guests.
️ Beach Facilities
There is a shortage of beach towels, sun beds, and umbrellas.
The beach is long and spacious — there is plenty of room to add more sunbeds and umbrellas for guest comfort.
☕ Room Supplies
Housekeeping is excellent, but there should be more sugar, tea, and coffee packets in the room. I had to go downstairs to the restaurant to get them.
️ Food Options
The restaurant menu is the same for lunch and dinner. Many guests leave the property to eat dinner elsewhere, which shows the need for menu improvement and more variety.
Serious Safety Concern ❌ Wild Dogs
This is a major issue at the property:
• Wild dogs chase guests
• Destroy hotel property
• Bite and tear plastic water bottles
• Take items left on beach beds or outside rooms
If anything is left outside, it gets destroyed by DOGS .
This is unsafe, and it is only a matter of time before a guest gets hurt.
Hotel management and local municipal authorities must urgently control the wild dog population before someone gets bitten. ❌
There are warning signs about wild dogs, but warnings alone are not enough ❌ real action is needed.
Some of my own family members are allergic to dogs and cats, which makes this even more concerning.
Environmental Concern (Eco-Friendly Request)
In the morning, I noticed a lot of garbage floating in the sea, including plastic bottles.
Places like Boracay Island and Hanoi Lakes in Vietnam have banned plastic bottles entirely.
I strongly recommend XANADU Beach Resort consider:
• Reusable water bottles
• Water refill stations
• Eliminating single-use plastic bottles
This would protect the environment and improve the resort’s long-term sustainability and image.
Final Thoughts

⚠️ Wild dog problem must be handled urgently
TV channel services must be fixed

Eco-friendly policies should be introduced

Suitable for short periods if you need the perfect sea near Pattaya or Bangkok
A modest hotel, worse than many in Thai for this price I would say, substantially worse, BUT! I knew all this beforehand. However, the most important thing was its most significant plus - its own sunbeds on an empty beach and a luxurious sea at any time of year, since we live in Bangkok. Whether you live in Thailand or you really care about the sea on Koh lan specifically or proximity to Pattaya and transportation accessibility on a small budget - this is one of the best options on the island right on the beach. If you are specifically flying to Thailand, of course it has something better to offer for this money on other islands. We were pleased because we knew what we were doing. Pros : own empty beach , chic year-round sea , pretty (not wow, but no Wow on the Kolan and no , nature like Greece and Crimea in the not most interesting parts of them - "dry", no palm trees and bounty scourge ) territory, good welcoming service , transfer from the main pier free of charge (saves a lot, because to the piney beach Tien boats road, go straight into the water , marina no , ferry does not run, and it is 1 km to the hotel in the sand and heat with luggage , and to the main pier, from where picks up hotel transport go cheap ferries), spacious rooms with veranda, clean room, comfortable as strange beds, we lived three. Cons: shattered everything , draped like in an old Soviet sanatorium, especially at the reception (romantic trip with a girl definitely not needed here) , although the room is all OK , but o simplicity . Very dirty toilet on the beach , in the restaurant is not fire (and there is everything primitive in the sense of atmosphere, believe me, I know how Thais know how to make a vibe and cozy out of simple plastic chairs, here. that is not the case), I am not squeamish, and Thais are doing very well with cleanliness in the toilets , and here is right for a rare bad, dogs , nice but primitive breakfast , I don't understand why it is considered normal, for this money in most hotels in Thai is fed much better, in the evening everything dies, entertainment zero , dinner nowhere but the hotel , only by taxi, if it is important to anyone , but we knew everything beforehand .

A great place to stay
Fantastic location, a great clean quiet beach with watersports, food and drinks. Crystal waters too. The staff were all super friendly from reception to the F&B people. Breakfast is the same as you get in a million hotels across Thailand, perfectly respectable. Room was fine, clean, good Aircon and a seating area outside. Value for money? Absolutely! I am sure we will be back.

Nice hotel by the azure sea
This hotel was also visited in 2025. Two nights didn't seem long. In 2026 we booked 3 nights. Rooms are large, spacious, excellent verandas. There's a shuttle to the pier. Breakfast is very decent. No personal towels, just baths. No soap, shampoo, etc. The beach is its own.Sunbeds and umbrellas are free.All disadvantages justify the beach and the azure sea. We'll definitely be back here.

Loved being at the beach, friendly staff, very helpful, good breakfast loved the green curry soup and the food at the restaurant
Room satisfactory wished they had a lamp between the beds as the lighting was quite bright prefer soft lighting in the morning and at night
Was disappointed that the ride into town at check dropped us off at the temple instead of close to the ferry dock
Walking with luggage on the rough street was difficult and it wound have only taken the driver 2 extra minutes to drop everyone off closer to the ferry was quite surprised
Loved the fire show on the last night (Feb. 28) the restaurant staff was great & the reception desk!!
