Khaosok Island Resort
Nằm ở Vườn quốc gia Khao Sok, cách Công viên quốc gia Khao Sok 8 phút đi bộ, Khaosok Island Resort cung cấp chỗ nghỉ có khu vườn, chỗ đậu xe riêng miễn phí, phòng chờ chung và sân hiên. Beautiful place
Nice room, friendly staffs, foods in the restaurant was awesome! After the stay in chow lan lake trip, this place is just a palace.. finally with nice aircond and the gardens is so maintained, beautiful place to relax.

Nice basic accommodation, very nice and friendly staff,
It's a nice basic accommodation managed by a lovely family. I knew this place is going to be rather simple, so I had no problem with not exactly snow white sheets or leaking sink in the bathroom. To be perfectly honest I was mostly out, so didn't bother about those little details. It's also advertised as 1 star, so fair enough.
When I checked in I also booked a few activities with the Island Resort. Some of them are run by third party companies and one trek I did I think was arranged by the Island Resort itself, as my guide was actually the son of the owner.
The first tour I did was the Cheow Lan Lake and staying in the raft house over night. And that was for the NYE! I have to say there was a few problems with that tour. First of all when you book this tour in a tour agency and not via this hotel, you are actually told what's gonna happen during those 2 days. Well, I wasn't. The trouble is I had no idea we'll be hiking through the jungle and going into the caves, so I had to slide on the mud and try to keep my balance in my flip-flops. Not exactly what I'd do normally. In regards to the head lamp, I was lucky to manage to borrow one from someone who didn't want to do the trek. I have to also say that I didn't like the guide. He wasn't particularly friendly, when trekking in the jungle, I was under impression he hurried up as if he just wanted to get back and be done with all this. The fact I was in flip-flops definitely wasn't helping me, and he didn't seem to care too much. Yes, of course I should have proper trekking shoes, and I would, if only I was told that when booking this trip. And yes, it wasn't his fault, but neither mine.
Anyway going into Nam Talu Cave was quite exciting, but also a bit challenging. There are parts where you have to swim through, or other where you're neck deep in the water. The whole trek took about 2.5 hrs and after that we got back to the Tone Toey Rafthouse. Please note, there's many raft houses like that on the lake. This one is probably one of the worst. The huts are really really basic, stained and covered with bugs poo. Ok, it's an adventure in the jungle, but all I'm saying there are different companies offering better standard. Also the jetty in front of those houses is pretty ruined, so slipping off is not a problem. I fell into a hole and nearly broke my leg, and there was another girl who fell off and pealed off most of the skin on her leg. I really think the main thing safety and I felt there's a lot that needs to be done here.
The next day we did a little tour on the lake, but pretty much in the same place where we were a day before. Also there was only 3 people that got up at this early hour, so our guide decided he's not gonna bother and just put us on another boat with different group. Exactly because things like that I think he just couldn't be bothered to do his job properly.
Later in the morning we've done another trek to another cave, this time dry. Lots of bats and big spiders. The weather was dreadful this day and after rather tasty lunch we headed back home.
Later the same day I went on a canoeing trip on the river. To be honest it was nothing special and could really do without it.
Definitely more rewarding was the next day trek in the Khao Sok National Park, guided by the son of the owner, Tu. He was great. He noticed I was into something more adventures, so we did a bit less usual route, going off the road, crossing the river a few times and ending the trek with a swim at Tang Nam. It's a very beautiful place, once you get into water, you can see a little canyon and then you arrive on the other side. I wish I had more time to carry on on this route.
Summing up, the stay at the hotel itself was very pleasant and the staff very nice. However regarding the trips booked with them, I probably would book those with another agent. No information given about the tours was the main problem. Also the quality of accommodation on the lake could be much better. This is not exactly the hotel's fault, but they chose to work with this particular company, so it's also their responsibility.

Good service
Service is very good! The lady is very attentive and helpful. Didn't feel pressure to book tour with them. But we were glad that we joined the half day tour + night safari package. It started around 16:00, BBQ dinner in the National park was included. It was funny that the lady include also lunch for this tour! So we had lunch around 13:00, rest some at the bungalow and take the tour at 16:00.
We stayed in a cheaper bungalow which was ok. The bathroom is very clean. There're holes on the wall and they tried to cover them with magazine pages which I find very funny. The bed was not very comfortable, but when you think of how much you paid…well…They do have better, sturdier bungalows if you pay just a little bit more.
Do your laundry here! They charge just the same as anywhere you can find in the town.

Don't expect to much because it's really cheap but the hotel has friendly people, good and cheap food. They also have the cutest cat I have ever seen. Good for pack packers as well. There are a lot of good tours into the jungle was well

The best accomodation we've had in Thailand!
Oné of our best stay in Thailand! Great location, clean and nice accomodation and tasty food. It is owned by a nice family, who made our trip perfect. They were really helpful and even offered a ride to the bus station. Them set up for us the best tour guide ever!
