very serene experience (most of the time)

this place is great, :
staff were very nice and helpful with smiles
very serene setting
very good value for money
very convenient
food was tasteful
but i gave it a 4 star because:
the noise of the next door neighbor. i know resort cannot control it but there should be a signage or some sort of policy, how people respect it or not, it's up to them
sometimes, the cleaning should be a bit more careful.... serene settings should be kept clean without trails of leftover food..etc.
but all in all, 80% of the time, it was quiet and clearn.. suggest to go during weekdays, then it would be a 5-star experience

No English and No Credit Cards Accepted

We arrived at the hotel around 5pm. The people working reception barely spoke English and had no idea what was going on. They finally were able to convey they cancelled our reservation after 10 mins of trying. They then found a room and I presented my credit card to which they said no credit cards. We selected the "Pay at Resort" option. I have never stayed at a hotel that doesn't accept credit cards. This hotel is remote with very few other options. Luckily there was one other hotel nearby that had a room and we were able to stay there.

OK but don't expect high standard

This is more a back-packer type of place, however, it is not cheap for the area - paid more than THB 2,000 for a river front twin bed - air con was good but toilet door didn't shut properly and noisy to open which means being woken up. A bit dirty, and dogs/cats come around looking for food at night and will bother you if you're sitting outside on the hammock. Don't travel Feb/March if you're sensitive to the wood smoke that pretty much covered this area and make your cloths stink. Amazingly, no mosquitoes. Overall, it is good for a night. Breakfast was fried eggs/ham/nescafe self-service coffee.

No credit card. Only cash. They should write it! Impossible to sleep because of party and the sounds of chicken and other animals. They put loud music in the swimming pool. The bathroom is full of very big mosquitos and ants. Very bad food for dinner, also quite expensive. Small breakfast, almost only local food. No one will carry your luggage or help you with the room. They just tell you where to go. The floating rooms are nice but too many mosquitos and bad smell. The toilet don’t have a filter. So your shower, pee and .. will go directly into the river. the stairs are long and hard. Bring a small luggage. They don’t speak English and they don’t care about it. They ask us the double of the price that was on Agoda, after when I check it they discount at the same price. Pay attention because they don’t give a receipt, so if you pay night per night they try to ask you money for the already payed nights.

A relaxing spot on the River Kwai that needs a bit of refurbishing

We stayed for 2 nights at the Tayan resort on a break from work in Bangkok. It's a beautiful place right on the river, with very few developments nearby. We particularly enjoyed floating down the river from one end of the resort to the other. Overall, it was a very nice and relaxing visit but the resort does need some refurbishing and perhaps a bit more diligent management. I was told they have a new owner and have started this work already.
Good:
-Great for swimming
-Beautiful and natural location right on the river
-Good food in the restaurant
-Sunset raft tour before dinner time
Still needs some work:
-Electricity and wifi are spotty
-Facilities could be cleaner, particularly the swimming pool
-Not really much of a "spa" to speak of
