The inn is wonderfully located on a mountain river. Ancient trees stand around the place. From here we could hike directly on a shady forest path to the mountains. Exciting architecture, very nice rooms overlooking the valley.

Paradise in the Maple Grove

After a strenuous hike from Muotathal to Richisau, we found ourselves in a true paradise surrounded by ancient and ancient mountain maple trees. A magical place to be welcomed by warm hosts. Esther and Mathis host the Richisau with passion, charm and commitment. We enjoyed a fine dinner with matching local wines and looked forward to the small but fine breakfast buffet. In the spacious room it was good to rest, so we were well prepared for the last stage to Glarus.
Esther and Mathis, thank you for the nice stay and good luck for the upcoming season!

Nice Place to stay in Glarus

We spend our new year’s eve before corona and it was nice place to stay, a lot of snow , not so far from home but feel like on the snow mountain holiday. Glarus also have a nice lake and famouse for camping place in sommer. The area is just nice to just enjoy walking on the snow, quiet , bird hearing and some road something close , so it’s will be really no noise.

Modern eingerichtet Zimmer und ausgezeichnetes Essen inmitten atemberaubender Natur

Wir haben im August 2021 während einer mehrtägigen Wanderung im Gasthaus Richisau übernachtet und waren begeistert: das Zimmer war sehr geschmackvoll und schön eingerichet, blitzsauber und komfortabel. Das Highlight war neben den alten Ahornbäumen jedoch das Abendessen: das 4-Gänge-Auswahlmenü, die Weinkarte - wir waren absolut begeistert und können das Gasthaus Richisau nur jedem empfehlen, der eine gelungene Verbindung von Kultur und Natur schätzt.

Wow, wir wurden überrascht!

Auf unserer Wanderung von Schwyz nach Glarus haben wir dort Übermacht. Erwartet haben wir nichts spezielles, das Hotel sieht von aussen ja auch etwas speziell aus. Doch Obacht! Sauber, originell und schön dekoriert, tolle, renovierte Zimmer und sehr freundliches Personal haben uns empfangen. Das Highlight war dann aber das Abendessen. Es gab eine kleine aber feine Karte und was uns serviert wurde hatte das gewisse etwas. Hier werden sie kulinarisch überrascht!
Speziell loben möchte ich Anne Hurmerinta welche sich aufmerksam beim Abendessen und Frühstück um uns gesorgt hat. Ganz toll! Zurückhaltend aber sehr aufmerksam.
Auch Herr Jacob van Seijen hat uns am nächsten Morgen mit einem Wandertip versorgt.
