Solid Budget Stay with a Few Hygiene Quirks
Smooth check-in: Staff were friendly and efficient. The garage was spaciously easy to access—a plus for drivers.
Room comfort: Larger than expected for an Ibis, with a comfortable bed and pillows. Well-equipped bathroom (shower, toilet, sink) and thoughtful extras: shampoo, shower gel, towels, hairdryer, Nespresso machine + tea.
Responsive service: When I reported leftover hair from a previous guest (on the bathroom walls/ceiling), the team acted immediately—sending a cleaner within minutes. The next day, the front desk followed up sincerely.
Location: Excellent public transport—just 15 minutes to Cornavin Station. Shops and restaurants nearby.
❌ The Not-So-Good
Hygiene inconsistency: The bathroom oversight (visible hair) was off-putting. The cleaner fixed the reported issue but didn’t re-clean the entire bathroom—half-measures don’t cut it.
Temperature: The room was a bit cold for my taste (I packed short pajamas and couldn’t make it to a store for warmer ones).
Breakfast: Disappointing. Processed meats, subpar croissants, boxed OJ, and mediocre coffee. The yoghurts were cheap, the cereal unappealing, and the Bircher müsli literally inedible.
Small nitpicks: Paper cups were just tossed on the counter (no tray/napkin).
Who’s It For?
For: Budget-conscious travelers who prioritize location, transport, and service.
Not for: Cleanliness perfectionists or foodies.
Pro tip: Inspect your bathroom upon arrival. If you see an issue, tell the front desk—they’ll address it quickly.
Final take: A practical, no-frills stay with great staff and location, but the hygiene miss and breakfast flop keep it from being great. Would stay again, but I’d check the bathroom first—and bring a sweater.

A great hotel-Ibis Geneve Petit Lancy
ready. Room was very clean with towels changed daily. Only thing missing are more hangers (only 2 were in the room) and hand towels (not provided). Breakfast was ample 16 Swiss Francs. You can even poach an egg yourself for breakfast. The best tasting scrambled egg too :-) .
Would definitely recommend Ibis Geneve Petit Lancy for anyone visiting Geneva. It's 15mins by tram from the main bus/train station (Gare Cornavin).
