Great dinner & service
I arrived at this hotel for dinner a bit late but nobody was there. The waiter was very friendly and always approachable which helps.
I ordered the broccoli soup which was very tasty and the pork schnitzel and chips (2 big pieces of schnitzel) which I could hardly finish. Like everything else when eating out in Switzerland, it is dear but I actually was satisfied with the price and left a reasonable tip because it was very good service and the meal and white wine were excellent.
If in the area again, I would definitely go back.

Amazing place to stay for Christmas
Wonderful place in the middle of the mountains of Switzerland. Nearby are all kind of activities that youcan do. Amazing view. Clean room and friendly staffs. We have enjoy our stay. Beautiful nature. Thank you

Nice and cosy
We spend only a night here before starting off our bike route down the Rhone. Nice and small village, a bit desertic. The hotel seemed perfect for ski vacations. Our roomwas small but had everything we needed.
Breakfast was fine. Quiet a good variety.

Nice Swiss Hotel
Great location near the town center and across the street from a small grocery market, tiny gas pump, and sports stores. Breakfast was good, the staff was friendly and spoke English well. The event opened breakfast early for the runners participating in the ultramarathon. WiFi was good enough to video chat and the room was comfortable.

Good hotel, quiet, near Gletch but in tiny town so few amenities nearby.
We chose this hotel because it was close to Gletch (which had much less choice and availability) since we wanted to hike around Furkapass, Grimselpass and go to the Gelmersee funicular. All that went out the window as the weather was miserable with clouds and rain so no mountain pass hiking or funicular ride was worth doing. Upon arriving at the hotel a bit early (1 hour before normal entering at 1500), the host was happy to let us go in early and also explained that our guest card would give us a free ride on the rack railway that went from Oberwald to Gletch. Given the bad weather, this gave us something to do for the afternoon. This turned out to be a great experience, scenic and fun since we we able to ride in the open car which gave full views in all directions. We opted to walk back to Oberwald on a trail along the Rhone river which was surging and impressive with the snowmelt and rain runoff. We were unlucky that this day (a Saturday) turned out to be a religious holiday and everything in town was closed save the hotels and 1 restaurant. So we could not shop (we needed to buy provisions) and the eating choice was non-existent. Its a fairly long way to any substantial town so this was not so nice. The room was of moderate size, the bed comfortable, there was a TV and tiny safe. The bathroom was very tight but had what was needed (a good shower, toilet, basic sink, hairdryer and shampoo/bath gel). It would have been perfect if there had been a small fridge and water heater (for tea/coffee). We had the misfortune to have quite a long power cut (about 1 hour in total with 3-4 temporary restores with subsequent cuts). This was happening to the whole town so it was not the fault of the hotel. We were offered candles which was a nice gesture since it was dark and we were navigating by the light of our portable phones! The WIFI worked well (when the power was on) and this was appreciated. The view was of the forest behind the hotel so it was not very scenic but it was quiet.
Breakfast was not included for us but the host said it costs 10 francs and not 15 as advertised in booking.com so we opted for that and it was one of the better breakfast spreads we have seen at a hotel on our many trips. For once it was worth the cost. There were many types of bread and the croissants were excellent. There was cereals, fruit, yogurt, coldcuts, cheeses, juice, etc. So, despite the weather and bad luck (holiday and power cut), we can recommend this hotel for its good basic amenities (do not expect a luxury hotel). It is 5 stars for its category although a bit pricy.
