Comfortable and friendly budget hostel in Interlaken

This hostel is located not far from Interlaken West Station, just a few hundred meters walk. The building is like an old European-style house, not too big for an inn. Not far from the bus stop either.
The check in process is quite fast and effective. At that time there were no officers because we arrived late afternoon. But they had everything ready, an envelope with our names written on it containing the key and the necessary information.
There is a small elevator in this hostel, although it is small but useful for us who bring large suitcases.
The rooms are quite roomy, not too big and not fancy or luxurious but comfortable and clean. The bathroom is quite decent with a shower that has warm water and a fairly fast water flow.
Breakfast is simple but delicious and there is quite a choice of cheese. At night it becomes a fondue restaurant which seems quite popular but we didn't try it.
The friendliness of the staff is quite good. They were willing to lend us a hot water kettle which was not in the room for us to make warm drinks in the room.
The price is not cheap but it is relatively lower than most of the surrounding hotels in Interlaken, especially when we looked for hotels to book in Interlaken, many of them were full and others had very high prices.
If you are in Interlaken, this hostel can be an option.

Don’t get your hopes up.

Was told that it would have air conditioning, which is the only reason I booked it. There is no air conditioning. It was so hot in the rooms people were sick. They need to have updates. The “ventilation” they claim the windows provide is a joke. If anything it made the rooms hotter. Will never stay here or recommend this place to anyone unless the property is updated to have air conditioning. Considering many customers have conditions where the heat makes it unbearable and the person extremely sick. So unfortunate.

It is a hostel not a hotel. We were told that if we pay additional fee to buy additional bed and can get a private room for the family. But when we check in, someone else has already stayed in the room. We had to leave at 9 pm to find somewhere else for the night. Room is not clean though. Not worth the price at all.

No goodwill

Unfortunately, no goodwill or accommodating in case of directly reported incorrect booking. Contact was nice, but not goodwill. Hostel itself I never visited.

Ideal quiet location with very nice views.
Entering the building in the late afternoon, one comes across a very penetrating smell, which probably came from the whey or cheese. The smell was still present in the fruit piece morning, which disturbed our children a lot.
It's a hostel with a self checking, which we didn't mind, but we didn't expect this as it wasn't noted anywhere when we booked.
We have received a spacious room that is very minimalist in style. For us it was perfectly sufficient. What bothered us were the dessert dressers, which were very worn and that the air filter in the bathroom was very dirty. You could even see the dust from the bed.
The breakfast room was very small and unfortunately very, very dirty! From the floor to the washing-up tray. The breakfast was extremely minimalist. For children almost nothing and for adults no choice which is a pity for the price we paid.
The parking costs additional although there are actually enough parking spaces. Also the bed linen, you have to take off in the morning yourself and carry down to the reception and the fruit piece room. A lift is available but only from 7 am to 7 pm in the evening.
It is Ender a hotel for the young people who don't want to stay in the house at all, as really a family hotel, couple or for older people who care a bit about something.
