Good value for money

We love this hotel mostly because of it's location. It's not in the heart of Zurich tourist spots, but it's very close to tram station, and there's a lot of good food find in the neighborhood. The room is big enough for 2, and the beds are very comfortable. It definitely deserves to be recommended to fellow travellers.

Disappointed

Very complicated check in regulations and I reserved 7 rooms had to pay room by room in Frank didn't accept Euro and my credit card declined in their machines so I have to go to change money in railway station 30 minutes walking from hotel to accept to accommodate us
Not helpful at all in reception
The reception area is very small and old furniture and depressed

We are sorry to hear that your arrival experience did not meet your expectations. We understand that coordinating a group reservation of seven rooms can require additional organisation, and we regret that the check-in process was not perceived as smooth and welcoming as we would have wished.
We would like to clarify a few points regarding the payment process. Unfortunately, we do not have any information on how the reservation was made or who requested payment room by room. Our hotel is able to process payments as a total amount and can also issue a combined invoice for multiple rooms. We also accept payments in Swiss Francs as well as Euros and major credit cards.
We are sorry to hear that you experienced difficulties with your credit card payment. For guests who require cash withdrawal, there is an ATM located approximately 100 metres from the hotel, and our team is always available to assist with directions or information.
Regarding your comments about our reception area and furniture, we would like to mention that our hotel was completely renovated in 2017 and has been continuously maintained to ensure a comfortable and pleasant environment for our guests. While we understand that individual preferences regarding design and atmosphere may differ, we always strive to offer a clean, welcoming, and well-kept property.
We also regret that you did not feel supported by our reception team. Providing helpful, friendly, and professional service is one of our highest priorities, and we will review your comments with our team to continue improving our guest experience.

Soulless

Disappointed. Seems like a soulless hotel and surrounds. The hotel was the beginning of a 7 day tour. The room was a decent size. Breakfast was good.
The weird thing was the hotel information on the fridge for which food and drinks are banned. Fridge is only to be used for storing medicine.Great way to alienate guests.

We are sorry that the "fridge" was the thing which disappinted you most.
The fridge is a hotel minibar and it is turned as long as the rooms are not occupied.
Some guests put some food inside and it gets spoiled. Therefore we do not recommend to put some food in a warm fridge.
You are always welcome to ask the reception to store food in a regular fridge. We are always willed to help.

It was okay, 4 out of 5.

Good hotel at a reasonable price. The staff was very attentive and friendly. Clean room with comfortable beds. I found the check-in a bit complicated.

Cheaper option to Zurich CBD, easy train access to city & airport, reasonable hotel at a good price

The Zuri Hotel in Zurich, whilst a bit away from the city centre, has a few other locational attractions; it is in easy walking distance to the local train station (about 500M on a relatively even surface) from which you can take a train to Central Station. From Central Station you have easy access to the limited tourist attractions of Zurich and the direct train to Zurich Airport.
Some important information about Central Station and Zurich Airport. Many tourists, ourselves included, when they have a late evening flight and a spare few hours to kill in Zurich, conclude that the best approach to the day would be to leave their luggage in storage at the Central Railway Station, spend the day in Zurich and then pick up their luggage in the late afternoon and get a train to the Airport. Whilst there is a lot of storage lockers in Central Station, they are very popular, and most will be displaying a red “occupied” light. The lockers come in variable sizes from small (S), M, XL and very large (XXL). You may have to wait until someone retrieves their luggage to get an appropriate sized locker. The system is quite sophisticated, you pay by credit card through a dispensing machine after installing your luggage in the locker, the locker will automatically close and you will get a receipt with a barcode. You scan the barcode on return and the locker magically unlocks. All very simple, except for finding your locker.
The rooms in the Zuri Hotel are a bit on the cramped size, with very limited wardrobe storage space. There is a small sofa bench next to the desk but this is the only place for your suitcase, except for the floor. The bed was large and comfortable and they provide a kettle and cups for your bedtime chocolate. A small fridge and safe are available. Whilst the bedroom is a bit small, the bathrooms are large, with a large, user friendly shower. We were there on a Sunday night and the residents of a local apartment block seemed to be noisily partying for most of the night, so there were numerous complaints about nocturnal noises. The hotel has an associated restaurant but this is Switzerland so you don’t need to buy too many drinks or too much food to end up with a hefty bill. The hotel provides breakfast, which includes the usual hot and cold fare. The breakfast rates about an average acceptability, but lacked any fresh fruit options, although on a more positive note, the restaurant area was functional from a diner and food access perspective.
If you are budget conscious, there is a large Coop supermarket on the other side of the road from the local railway station, which sells a range of prepared salads and a very extensive selection of alcoholic beverages to ease the tensions of the day’s touring.
Zurich is the industrial heart of Switzerland, and is my least favourite Swiss city, with limited tourist attractions; river and bridges, an unimpressive and unmemorable old town. Even the Cathedral, the Grossmunster, with its two towers is currently covered from head to toe in renovation scaffolding. Zurich is neither attractive nor interesting, but perhaps you will find some hidden gems.
So in summary, the Zuri Hotel is a bit away from the Zurich CBD but within easy access by local train, overall the hotel is acceptable with the odd blemish.
