Hotel with basic amenities

Stayed at the Yak hotel as part of my Kailash pilgrimage. It's a great location, a stone's throw from shopping and Jokhang Temple. But the hotel itself is pretty basic in terms of amenities and service. Little too crowded also. During breakfast there was no place to sit and hardly any food leftover

Please do not go to yak hotel

I don’t often write reviews but I would not wish this hotel upon other travelers in this otherwise fantastic city. Apart from being centrally located, this hotel has little to offer and suffers from a lack of cleanliness. There are open garbage cans and Large flies and mosquitoes everywhere. As you make your way past them, they often follow you into the room. The breakfast room and the breakfast itself had a lot of flies sitting and buzzing around.
The cleaning service was appalling. They never once changed the sheets or removed dirty towels in the five days I stayed here. The toilet was also never cleaned. The staff don’t speak any English at all and there is no way of communicating with them from your room, even in an emergency.
This is an old hotel, but it also has not been kept up. The shower, with very little water pressure even on the second floor, had a loose handle which would swivel on its own during the shower, alternately scalding and then chilling the gather. Though reported, this was never fixed or another room offered.

The sanitation is very poor, the TV is old, the hotel is old, the parking space is rarely blocked and can't be moved. The security guard will turn the key and help move the car. I think the pit is that there are some things in it that charge money. For example, a bottle of farmer charges 5 yuan, Coke 5 yuan, and a disposable bath towel 20 yuan.
