I recently stayed at Slang Hotel (荟语酒店) in Guilin and had a wonderful experience. The service was exceptional, with friendly and attentive staff. The hotel's design blends Muji-style minimalism with lush greenery, creating a serene and comfortable atmosphere. It's conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from the main street, and directly across from "Little Hong Kong," where you can find affordable clothing. The hotel also provides an underground walkway, making it easy to navigate the area. Major attractions like Elephant Trunk Hill are only a 10-15 minute walk away. Overall, it's a perfect base for exploring Guilin.

It was nice to be upgraded to theme love room however the check in process took us 40 minutes to begin with. Upon entering the room was really hot and stuffy and after checking with its technician they said it’s centralised air conditioning and only at a later part in the evening will the temperature be turned down. Advised us to leave the hotel room for 3 hours and come back in the evening. We didn’t as we needed to rest a while and was sweating and stuffy with a tiny window to just open to allow for cooler air to come in. Returning in late evening just to bask into the room temperature of heater of 20c! It was truly truly hot! Why even turn on heater centralised conditioning??? There is no air conditioning to cool down the room such a horrible and worst hotel of our entire stay. Truly disappointed for the first night and even wanted to check out the second night but we are leaving Guilin so it was not worth the hassle.
Location was on the spot however the room air conditioning is the most horrible in our entire stay and only heater was turned on. Burning sleep in the night and even burning during the day. Both was equally hot and sweaty night. Disappointed truly. Can’t even have a proper rest at this 4 star hotel. The outlook is not new it’s just inside was new probably.
It’s bad not to have air conditioning and even worst when it’s central air conditioning turned to be heater mode day and night. It’s not really cold at Guilin either it’s hot there was sun. It was unpleasant stay sadly although the nice room was given on our honeymoon rest stop here.

My second time staying in this hotel. Standard maintained with cleaned rooms. Location is superbly near walking street with good shopping and variety of food. Buffet breakfast spread was acceptable. The supper treats always a comforting delights. The tour agent located within hotel provides good service for booking for cruise etc. Overall an excellent hotel.

Great hotel, nice, clean, modern, central location. We had a good view from the room and the room was spacious. There is a person available near reception that helps with tours. Breakfast is not very diverse but a normal mix of international and Asian cuisine. Definitely recommend this hotel.

Room was clean n functional. However location quite a distance from Wenchang Pier & the food street/night market. Room Check-in process can be improved. Quilt/blankets too thick n warm for spring weather though ok for winter.
