Western-Style hotel near Yading scenic area

Holiday Inn Express was a good place to recover from all of the climbing in Yading. The rooms were large and comfortable, the staff was helpful (though very limited English), and the food in the restaurant was good, basic Chinese cuisine. I found the restaurant staff to be especially friendly and helpful. My only cautions: there is an expansion going on in the building, and if your room is near it, you hear construction noise. Also, the power went off one night - not for long, though. There is a LOT of new construction going on in the town and surrounding area - visit quick, before it's overbuilt!
We caught the public bus, in front of the hotel, to take us the short 10-15 minute ride to the Yading ticket entry complex (5 Yuan each), and also used it for the return.
If you prefer to eat out, restaurants in the town are about a 10 minute walk - there are also many hotels located in the town, across the street from the restaurants.
If you don't speak Mandarin, I suggest getting a business card from the front desk, withthe Hotel name/address on it - helpful for showing to drivers.
