My favourite hotel in Ashgabat

My first stay at Oguzkent was more than 10 years ago, and except during Covid and in 2025 when it was closed for renovation I stayed at this hotel every year. I like the location, the large rooms, and the staff at reception and breakfast. Oguzkent definitely is my favourite hotel in Ashgabat, it almost feels like coming home. Adjacent to the hotel across the street there is a nice park for early morning and evening walks, restaurants are nearby.
One issue which remains unsolved is the very poor internet connection, if a big group of travellers stays at the hotel then the access to internet is almost non-existent. This is my only complaint, the hotel has to work on it as there is another hotel where it works perfectly.

No AC in 5 star hotel

No working AC. Offered a new room and again AC does not work. Asked for intervention next day. Sent 2 people with screwdrivers who restored flow for about 2 hrs. That’s the best of the best there. Why go?

A place to go back to again

Excellent There are places that are forgotten immediately after departure, and there are those that remain in the memory as part of the journey itself. Oguzkent Hotel is just like this. This is not just a hotel, but a place of character, where from the first minute you feel a special atmosphere of calm confidence and real level. There is no ostentatious luxury for the sake of the experience, everything looks naturally decent here: from elegant interiors to impeccable service organization. Particularly impressive is the way staff know how to be both professional and truly attentive to a rare combination that is not common today. The rooms are spacious, perfectly maintained, and the view of night Ashgabat through panoramic windows is a separate aesthetic pleasure. The morning here begins with a wonderful breakfast and the feeling that the day has already set the right tone. This place feels level, style and respect for the guest in every detail. If you want to understand what real Turkmen hospitality is in its modern and sophisticated form, then Oguzkent is the address worth choosing.

The best hotel in Ashgabat...

We traveled all over the world. I can honestly say that the Oguzkent Hotel is one of the best hotels we've ever stayed at. From a warm welcome to a wonderful morning breakfast to little touches, it all works. If you are considering a hotel in Ashgabat, this is where you want to stay. Look no further!

Wonderful Stay in Ashgabat — A Great Start to Our Silk Road Journey

During our Silk Road trip, Ashgabat was our first stop, and our stay at this hotel truly set a positive tone for the rest of the journey. The hotel was recommended by our tour guide, but I also did my own research ahead of time, reviewing feedback on TripAdvisor and learning more about what the hotel industry offers in Ashgabat. I was looking for a place with a comfortable bed, great food, reliable service, and a welcoming atmosphere—and I’m happy to say this hotel delivered.
The hotel itself is beautiful, with elegant gold-and-white décor in the rooms and a large, spacious lobby. We booked two rooms. In one of them, we initially experienced a Wi-Fi issue and a non-working air conditioner, but both were resolved quickly and efficiently by the staff. In general, the Wi-Fi worked perfectly throughout the hotel.
Breakfast offered a good variety of options—a nice balance of Turkmen and Western choices. I especially enjoyed the local lemonades, yogurts, dried nuts, and “pokads” (a delightful local snack).
The reception staff were helpful and knowledgeable. While there were some language barriers with English, it didn’t take away from the overall positive experience.
I’m very happy with our stay and would absolutely return to this same hotel if I come back to Ashgabat. It was a wonderful start to our three-week Central Asia journey.
