An interesting, entertaining, friendly host

At Bachelor, we broke journey for refreshments at the Butterfly and Animal farm café which was quite a nice rural café with plenty of space with various vintage items arranged like in an art gallery. We heard that they serve fresh Mango smoothie and that was every one’s choice. In fact, it turned out to be delicious and one of the best smoothies we have had the opportunity of enjoying in the recent times. We found the host to be extremely entertaining where we had a long chat and laughed before we bid good bye to continue with our journey.

We had a very pleasant stay and enjoyed not only the good food and cheerful hospitality but also the opportunity to see the butterflies and feed the rabbits and other farm animals. A unique place and a good stopover on our long trip.

Wonderful, amazing !

The place is so non-typical, it is hard to describe. But it is certainly the best place we could stay in at Batchelor. Incredible experience. Chris, the owner, is just so nice and wonderful.
The place is amazing.
And the food is great as well.
Do not search further: go there !

Comfortable farm stay nested among a butterfly house and teeming with pond life, rabbits, ducks, chickens, larger farm animals and a resident snake and crocodile.
Interesting and hands-on for the kids - get up close and feed the various animals.
Restaurant provides homestyle meals - they're alright, but Gordon Ramsay wouldnt be impressed.
The 'no outside food or drinks' note in the hotels.com listing is a bit aggressive. It only applies to the restaurant, so you can byo whatever you want to your rooms.
If you're travelling with kids, ask for a cabin near the front so you dont have to trek through the park.
Told there was no hair dryer available though listed in description.
Cabin and bathroom could use some more storage and bench space.
Bed was comfortable, room was clean and tidy.
Owner is quite quirky - lovely guy. The artwork on the room walls is just as unique. Its well done and fits in with the theme of the place.
I reccommend staying there if you're planning to visit the farm anyway. At night the extra wildlife comes out and you get to frolick with the frogs and the lizards.
Overall, we were content with our stay but I feel that a 3-star accommodation rating is a bit generous.

Memorable one night stay

I’m giving this a 4 rating because it was such a unique gem. Not for everyone but if your looking for something a bit different for a night or 2 then this is the place. Was a little worried when we arrived. The ac didn’t work great but it was enough for us. The rooms are a bit quirky which was also ok for a change from the usual. What I loved most was all the animals and the grounds. Take a good look around when your here and meet Zeuss the salty croc, walk through the butterfly enclosure which was very pretty, check out the rabbits, chickens, pigs, goats, cow, ducks, donkeys…so many of them. Lots of little babies and you can even feed the animals if you like. Both Chris and his wife are very friendly and helpful and love to chat. Yes it was definitely memorable.
