Can definitely recommend this hostel!!
The hostel is a super cozy place and if you are looking for peace and quietness, this hostel is the right place for you... Tim, Paul and Chelsea are very helpful, friendly and welcoming and we felt very comfortable and therefore stayed for several weeks... Thank you guys for everything!!

OK for a short time
This stay definitely had some really nice things going for it, but also some not so good things. Tim at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The outside eating area was particularly nice. The bathrooms and showers were clean. The negatives: there was no bin in the room which I found a bit strange. We found that the duvet was quite small for the bed. There was also some bugs in the room, small ant like creatures around the fridge and two cockroaches. Not sure how they got in as we were quite careful with our window and door! Overall it was an OK stay. Location was very convenient, and the hostel was quiet and peaceful. Not a bad stay for a night or two.

Thanks for allowing us to mention bins - incase anyone reading this comes to us expecting bins in the rooms.
We provide recycling bins, rubbish bins & compost bins. We also personally remove every bottle lid we find and send them all to a charity who re-purposes them in to life changing prosthetics.
The reason we removed all bins from the rooms is because they were getting filled with food scraps that attract ants and roaches. We have a diligent pest control procedure, but have found that no bins in rooms have eliminated most bugs - which is a challenge in the tropics. With plenty of bins available in the shared areas, it is a tactical choice to not have bins in the rooms.

Choose this over any other accommodation.
Best hostel out there! The owner Paul and onsite manager Tim are very friendly and accommodating. I even sat out a few nights to have drinks and chat with Tim and a few other guests from the hostel. The rooms were very clean and outdoor space incredibly cozy and tropical feeling. Ive stayed here a few different times now totalling about a month and would stay here again. I have made some great friends at this hostel and have even been allowed to hang around the outdoor spaces after I left. Tour bookings are discounted here as well and staff are great for local recommendations. I felt right at home here and I can't see how anyone could feel any differently.

Homely hostel
Cutest little backpackers and so glad I found it! My flight arrived super early in the morning but Tim let me crash on the outside day bed until I could check in! Check in is normally 12pm but they had the room ready for me sooner than this which was really nice of them!
I had originally only planned to stay one night as I wanted to experience a few different places around Cairns, but after my first night there being so comfortable, homely and quiet I decided to extend and booked for another two nights instead of the party hostel I had obliviously booked in for!
The hostel itself is located in a little street/laneway behind Cairns Cental shops so a bit out of the way of the main strip, however I was able to walk to the Esplanade within 10-15 minutes and go by plenty of shops and cafes on the way. Due to the location, it's super quiet and also very private as you need a code to get into the property which I liked as I felt safe there as well as my bags which I left in a secure spot when I went on an overnight tour.
The only 'downside' is that the room I was in got quite warm, but this was only during the day and is to be expected when in Cairns! There is an air conditioner, but you need to pay to use it (cheap, but I didn't as the fan and open window was enough)! I can see why they do this though as the entire hostel promotes an eco-friendly vibe and tries to reduce their plastic consumption and electricity use where ever possible.
Definitely recommend if you are looking for a respectful, quiet, comfortable and homely stay whilst you are in Cairns!

Peaceful accomodation
Really peaceful place, with lovely plants in the relaxing backyard, you literally forget that you are so close to the road and the big shopping center. The location is great – walking distance from the city center (Esplanade). I highly recommend it.
