The issues you described, from the unpleasant odour and maintenance concerns to the cleanliness of the bedrooms, are very disappointing to read and are not reflective of the experience we aim to provide. While I'm pleased the apartment size and layout suited your needs, I regret that these positives were overshadowed by the condition of the apartment. Budget backpackers
Moving to a room that has been 'freshly audited' we were greeted with cobwebs, dust and ripped curtains. Alas, we accepted this room as it was lacking black the visible black mould.
The whole property feels stuck in time, like it hasn't been updated (or deep cleaned) since it opened in
1991. There's clear water damage throughout, paint missing with damaged walls, and the balcony was covered in bird droppings. It honestly felt closer to a budget backpackers than serviced apartments. To be calling it 'serviced' apartments is a far, far stretch from reality, as nothing has been serviced in a very long time. It's to the point where it probably needs a tear down and rebuild.
Customer service was also hit and miss. One of the front desk staff came across quite sassy and unhelpful, which didn't help the situation. That said, Humphrey did try his best to assist and at least approached things with a good attitude.
Comfort was also a big issue. The lounge was incredibly uncomfortable, and the bed was rock hard, making it difficult to get a decent night's sleep.
Avoid this place if you want to not be affected by black mould and have a decent night sleep. Pay the extra $10 and stay somewhere else.

I found sticks of incense that had been burnt in the wall and the ends remained there. The FIRE ALARM for the room had been tampered with by the previous tenant with a plastic bag wrapped around it and semi-removed from the ceiling. The sprinkler system is recessed into the roof and unlikely to work in case of emergency. The toilet flush buttons were orange/brown around the edges of them. The air-con unit would turn itself off every time you tried to change a setting and you had to physically push the on button on the unit to turn it back on as the remote didn't power it on.
Staff were informed of the tampered fire alarm and we were told that maintenance would come and fix it. They didn't during the entirety of the 2 nights/3 days we were there.
Oh and I found a used vape in the room too.
Gross.
