Best Staff Ever
This resort and restaurant is absolutely amazing. Bar staff Jezz, Francheska, Meg, Sophie, Effie and all the other bar staff serve their customers with a beautiful smile, warm, personalised conversation and the best service in any other establishment we had visited whilst in Darwin. Sorry everyone if I have misspelled names. Their meals were always beautiful.
You guys are an asset to this establishment. Thank you all for making us feel so welcomed, treated, like a friend and for ensuring I had cold cascade light beer to drink . Hats off to you all.

Don’t recommend
Worse meal service was terrible, they got the meals incorrect and then wanted to charge us extra. So disappointed

We do appreciate that misunderstandings can happen when placing an order, and we understand how frustrating it would have been to receive your meal without the add-on you were expecting. After speaking with the team members involved, however, we haven't been able to establish that the add-on was included in the original order. When it was subsequently requested, our team offered to prepare this for you at the usual additional cost.
While we do understand that this may differ from your recollection of the interaction, based on the information available to us we don't believe this was an error in the preparation or service of your order.
That said, we appreciate you taking the time to share your experience, as feedback like this does give us an opportunity to review how we confirm orders with guests and where clearer communication may help avoid similar misunderstandings in future, and will feed this back through to the relevant teams. Great resort !
Great resort! The pool, bar and restaurant were excellent. From Friday to Sunday, there was live music and a great atmosphere, which really added to the experience.
We did find the management of non-staying guests entering the resort a little too relaxed. While the resort advertises that visitors are welcome as long as they use the restaurant, guests should be aware that by the weekend, there can be some questionable groups around the pool area, with colourful and, at times, abusive language. On a few occasions, the behaviour began to escalate to the point where we had to quickly remove our children from the area.
Unfortunately, similar behaviour occurred at night, with some cabins appearing to accommodate more people than the number of registered guests.
I can't help but wonder whether the couple's electric bikes that were stolen could have been prevented if visitors were monitored more closely and required to register at the front desk. It would also provide greater security if visitors were restricted from entering the accommodation areas.
Personally, I would have felt much more secure knowing that the resort was monitoring and keeping track of everyone entering the property. I believe this would also help ensure a safer and more enjoyable environment for families and other guests.
Overall, however, we still had a fun holiday. The bar, front desk and house keeping staff were extremely friendly, welcoming and vibrant, and they really contributed to making our stay enjoyable.

Compassion, Understanding and Outstanding Service
We had a Booking for July 9, 2026 in one week’s time. We had a prepaid, non refundable booking. We were flying to Darwin to meet our son and his family who had been on a driving holiday from Melbourne to Darwin. We were then taking their car and van back to Melbourne as they had only 3 weeks off work. Unfortunately their car had a catastrophic engine issue. We were no longer needed to undertake the return trip.
I contacted Darwin Freespirit Resort and explained the situation and asked if there was anything they could do with regard to a refund.
Their response was that given the circumstances they would refund the prepaid monies.
We are so grateful for their empathy and understanding. Lily especially was so helpful to both myself and our son and his family.
Our son has booked a 2 night stay at Freespirit Resort prior to catching their flight home.
As l said to Lily, ‘Darwin Freespirit as a business deserves the highest praise for their response’
