Lovely getaway, would stay again

I was staying one night (Saturday night). I found staying at The George Hotel, a lovely experience, the staff were lovely and chatty.
I parked in the hotels private free car park, details on web site were clear and easy to follow.
After booking in (room 17), I was greeted to a beautiful, functional and VERY clean room. The room was an executive suite, so it had a kitchen, two TV's, bathroom, lounge room and much more. The view from the room, made me feel I was back in the 1800s. As a solo female traveller, I felt very safe. The corridor has a locked door, only people staying have the key to access it. The atmospher of the place was quiet and good.
The George Hotel is walking distance from the Art Gallery, bars and cafes. I decided to have breakfast downstairs. Staff were lovely and food was excellent.
I would certainly stay at The George Hotel again. Great location, however if you don't like music from near by bars, then it may not be for you. Sound is expected if your in the central Ballarat.
There is access to the balcony, and if you like you can have a drink out there and enjoy the world going by.
The hotel could be used by someone in a wheel chair. A wheel chair could travel from the car park to the hotel, there is only one step for a wheel chair to get over if one wants to go on the balcony. Yes there is a lift.

Interesting Bathroom

The rooms were spacious, well equipped and clean. When we visited the bar and restaurant was closed this could have been because it was slightly out of season. The only complaint was the bathroom/shower, they seem to have been recently updated very modern, the room was separated from the bedroom by an opaque glass wall which you could definitely see through meaning you could see the occupant quite clearly having a shower or going to the toilet. This probably isn't an issue if you are sharing with a partner, however in the family room, which my son was sharing with his grown up children and a friend it was slightly embarrassing for mainly the female members of the family.

Great location for the center of town. A comfy bed and nice bathroom. Did the job for me.

What a delightful hotel to stay at. The room was quality focused and very big.

A very comfortable overnight stay.
We also had coffee and breakfast in the cafe downstairs which was very good too.
