Loved this place

Absolutely loved this place, saw kangaroos jump across the lake one of the mornings, did an Everglades trip from here which leaves just by the Kangarooms. Enjoyed the restaurant close by as loved trying out the beers from their micro brewery.
The accommodation was small and basic but the beds were comfortable and the outside kitchen area made up for the very small rooms. Definitely take mosquito repellent, there are lots.
There is so much wildlife here: kookaburras, monitor lizard, more kangaroos than I could imagine. The transfer from Noosa junction takes about 40 minutes and is very practical, Kangarooms is pretty remote. Next time I would probably do a couple of nights in kangarooms and a couple of nights central Noosa.

Accommodation has problems. Staff lovely but …

The setting is beautiful and the staff is great but the accommodation itself has many problems. The huts are run-down; terrible pillows and mattresses; and unattractive generally. The bathroom is about 50m walk away so in cold or wet weather, or in the middle of the night, the walk is awful.
The kitchen is open air - a roof but no walls so it’s hot in summer and horrible in wet or cold weather. Worse than camping.
Additionally the walls between huts are paper-thin, so I could hear every noise in the adjoining hut - unfortunately the huts are quite noisy at night.
The staff members are lovely, but I couldn’t recommend this accommodation at all.

It sounds like our eco-style cabins weren’t quite the right fit for you. They’re designed to be simple and nature-based, with shared amenities and open-air spaces, which many guests really enjoy, but we understand it won’t suit everyone.
Our open-air kitchen is a popular feature as it keeps cooking smells away and creates a social atmosphere, though we appreciate weather can impact the experience. As for the cold… we are in Queensland after all, but yes, a rainy late-night walk isn’t ideal.
We do try to be clear in our booking info so guests can choose the style of stay that suits them best. Thanks again, and safe travels.

Kangaroos stay

I had a wonderful stay at kangarooms it so cool to be close to kangaroos roaming the camp, I even managed to see the kangaroos in the water for sunrise they also have very large showers and toilets which are great and accommodation is clean and comfortable- they also have an amazing experience the eco safari tour which is a canoe experience you get from the site - very friendly staff also

Kangarooms stay

I really enjoyed my stay at Kangarooms! It was a very unique experience being around the kangaroos, always having a special view while cooking in the outside kitchen as well :) The hostel offers a bunch of activities such as an Everglades tour, morning yoga and stand up paddling!

A natural wonder

The staff here were very friendly and helpful. Set in a great location with a free shuttle was very handy. The room was clean. Managed to see a lot of wildlife here including many kangaroos.
