Pleasantly surprised

I needed somewhere in Mandurah at short notice. This was cheaper than any other listing in Mandurah and I am familiar with the other options so I wasn’t expecting much at all!
The receptionist was impeccable in her presentation and service, one of the best check-ins I’ve had in years. The little bag of chocolates, tea, coffee and milk was a nice touch.
My room was absolutely immaculate. Not a speck of dust anywhere. The bed was comfy, shower was hot, fridge was cold and the garden outside the room was beautiful.
I had a quick walk around the property and spotted the boat docks available if you arrive by boat, people dropping crab nets off the jetty and a sparkling blue pool.
Other than the ridiculously small parking bays (we don’t all drive a Hyundai Getz) I could not fault the place even if I wanted to.
There are no restaurants or bars on the property but just a short walk over the bridge and you’re in Mandurah Central with everything you’d need.
Will be back for sure.

Grubby and tired, where do I start? Well the pizza box ( with crusts) between the fridge and the wall was a nice touch,

Be aware , when you arrive, you will be charged a $200 bond on your room which is excessive given the quality of the product., let me begin.
Broken and stained curtains are always a bad sign when you walk into a room. ( see photo )
The chair with god knows what on it (see photo)
The unusable dirty t towel ( see photo)
The dirt in the room is simply unforgivable (See photo)
Family size pizza box with crusts shoved down beside the refrigerator missed by house keeping.
Upon returning the offending pizza box to reception,
" We're very sorry we'll have a word to house keeping " that was it.
When do I get my $200 deposit back ? 3 a 4 working days.
Warning number 2 DON'T pay your deposit in cash, it is not returned as cash.

Overall it's good.

Room 32 is booked for three days and two nights.
The 32nd has no sea view.
The reception was warm and the staff were very friendly. The hotel is located in a good location, close to attractions, several well-known restaurants, the overall environment in the neighborhood is good, with swimming pool. The room was not new, but clean and tidy, with parking on the ground floor in front of the door, two cars, and no sun exposure, and easy access to pick up the car's contents.
The beauty of the room is that it has only one living room and two queen-sized rooms with air conditioning, and the other two rooms only have fans. somewhat affect that quality of the hotel and the feel of the stay.
One tip: The corner of the cabinet on the far side of Room 32 is best protected from bumps and unnecessary trouble and disputes (pictured).

Disappointing stay in 38A

We stayed in Unit 38A, it has the potential to be nice again as it is in need of a paint job and a minor Reno of the kitchen and bathroom would spruce it up to feel good about the price they are charging for the unit., everything except the carpet looks original. Not even a rubbish bin or a bag supplied for rubbish. THE AIRCON DOES NOT WORK , (it was 39 degrees out and about the same in the apartment), other than the fan and it didn't just quit during our stay. Bed was comfy, there was a fan in the closet which has a broken base but we were able to make it functional for some relief from the heat, overall a little disappointing for the price to stay, but when I checked out and told the reception that they shouldn't rent the unit in summer heat she was extremely rude, just a we will get someone to look at it not a hint of sorry for your luck we got your money who cares.

Ticked the box

Great choice for an overnight visit to Mandurah . We had a one bedroom apartment on the first floor - very spacious- older style, but super clean and comfortable with great a/c which was just as well as we were there in the early January heatwave. Only one minor niggle- really missed not having black out window treatments in the bedroom- got woken up way too early. However, out and about the well kept gardens and pool were a bonus and we squeezed in a welcome dip before we headed off to see the lights. With a friendly staff, a bakery, bottle shop and supermarket next door, and just a short stroll over the bridge to the foreshore - what’s not to like - just wished we’d booked in for two nights .

Do not assume you have an extension if you have made a booking online overnight. Bonds must be paid by credit card and will be returned within 5 working days. Staff may accept a cash bond but the guest will have to supply their bank details for a refund within five working days. Bonds will be retained to cover any damage, noise call outs and evictions, if keys are lost, rooms require extra or deep cleaning (stains, extra rubbish, dishes not clean and put away etc). We have CCTV and are good friends with the local police and have a contract security presence on site.
