Personal service

It was so nice being met at the venue by the lovely Nick who made us feel at home. I like the idea of him sharing his home with us, it made us extra appreciative of our time in Melbourne. Excellent location.

Money making machine

There was a modular rate card approach to everything which was a bit weird, sometimes unjustified and way too transactional. Checking in after 10 PM had a cost to it. I don't recall seeing that as a condition while booking but that might be my miss. Most weird part was that in the years of travelling and staying in all sorts of accommodations, this is the first place I found that charges you for storing the luggage post check out. 10 bucks a piece. Now i had 4 peices of luggage, i checked in at 11 PM and checked out next morning at 10 - using this place only for my transit night in Melbourne. So i ended up paying 25-30% of the cost of the room on these extras (despite the host giving me a discount on luggage storage as i was keeping my luggage there only for a couple of hours). Lastly the place wasnt very spacious for us. One or 2 nights are probably okay, but as a family of 3 i woundn't want to stay there for longer hauls.

Great place to stay,well located and very well equipped at a great price

One bed apartment, very well equipped kitchen, laundry, nice bathroom, plenty of space for 2 people and nice view from balcony and bedroom.
Owner left us milk, butter, vegemite, tea, coffee etc.
Swimming pool on site and nice garden and bbq area.
Very quiet despite being central.
Excellent public transport so easy to get to shops, bars, restaurants.
Called owner for check in and out and worked well.
Would stay again.

'Nick's Place' rates 9.8 by me too. Well only Torvill & Dean rate a perfect 10.
I could happily live here (well, a bit of a downsize). It's just like an IKEA perfect small house. Nick is oh so willing to help in every way. We'll be back. Plus BEST budget value, a suite for less than your anerage hotel stingy bedroom price. Nick wants it to be booked 100% and he deserves it.

Virtual accommodation

This is accommodation in a pretend hotel so if you think there is a reception or phone number it doesn't exist be prepared for a search! The place is actually Fifth apartments and the rooms are sublet privately by numerous asian men representing internet booking agencies. Wouldn't recommend as our 2 bedroom unit had 9 beds and some units had numerous people squared in and facilities tooooo crowded. Best of luck if you use this accommodation.
