Beautiful lodge and scenery
Such a beautiful location. Really lovely well maintained gardens and residences. My dad and I stayed in the Windmill Lodge, it was modern but with character, clean and well kept with all amenities. The owner was lovely and completely accommodating. And a really great price for such a lovely location and facilities.

Disappointed didn’t meet expectations at all.
Covid19 has hit many businesses especially in Victoria. BUT. As a treat based on the photos decided to book the ‘Spa’ one bedroom cottage as an indulgence for 2 nights. The area is lovely, peaceful and quiet but that’s about all.Regretted this choice within an hour. Carport is about 10metres above cottage whereby one walks down the slightly slippery path. Most importantly it’s unlit so take a torch with you if you intend arriving in the dark. Or going out at night.The Cottage itself is quite small. Kitchen bench top is now cluttered with jars of biscuits (stale) cereals, jar of instant coffee, jar of mixed up mainly herbal, tangled strings of teabags, and lumpy sugar. And don’t mistake the bird seed with muesli it’s on the bench as well. One cupboard is now locked. So bin is under sink right next to the pots and pans and rest of bird seed. Decided quickly we had no intention to cook anything here. We had one small drinking glass, two miss matched plastic cups as well as plastic wine glasses. Didn’t feel very adult or romantic . Dining table hard up against large wall heater and close to fridge on the other side. Chairs are saggy. Sofa bed saggy as well. A few sticks of kindling then huge damp logs making lighting a fire difficult.Bed was comfortable. But too much furniture ,no room to put suitcases and no hangers in the wardrobe. Bathroom had pump packs of toiletries and sink cluttered with daggy plastic flowers. Because there is no window in bathroom it is gloomy the fan needs to be constantly . Not inviting the inclination to use the spa bath at all. Just kick ones leg high enough over to use the shower instead. At least the water was steamy hot. I am sorry to have to write such a poor review. I understand this area is expensive to stay but at $200+ per night for a couple to stay here was not good value

Ownership has changed, and parking is now located below the cottage. Security and cottage lights have been installed for added convenience. While cereals are no longer supplied, we now provide pod coffee and individually wrapped teas. Pots and pans are no longer stored under the sink. Additionally, the old heater has been replaced with a reverse cycle air-conditioner for improved comfort. The cottage has also been refurnished, including a new sofa bed.

Beautiful forest retreat
We had a very relaxing stay the day prior to our wedding in Mount Dandenong, and we enjoyed the spa and fireplace. There was plenty of space for the entire family and the rooms were clean and well equipped. Ample breakfast provisions (including bacon, eggs, milk and bread) were provided. It is a beautiful retreat surrounded by trees and ferns.

Great forest retreat to get away from the city
We spent the weekend here and found the accommodation very much to our liking.
close to the tourist areas and restaurants.
Owner went out of her way to assist us and let us do some laundry.
The spa was great at night with a few wines.
The setting with the tress and ferns is a refreshing break from the city
The Cats and the birds are part of this .

Not so private retreat
House was nice and secluded but the owner is next door and randomly shows up to use the laundry without notice. After we asked for privacy the same instance happened the next day. We had a big family with kids and only had access to the laundry for a very short time, after requesting. No sharp knives to cook with, some other regular utensils not available. BBQ is a really just a really small hot plate. Cats and dogs show up from time to time which is okay if you like pets in your house/space. The mowing guy also showed up and started blowing leaves and dust all over our cars, and asked to mow because this can only be done on Fridays’ which was very strange, annoying and loud.
