Friendly place to stay
We had a lovely couple of days in Meningie. Our front room with a spa was spacious, very clean and located in centre of the shopping strip. We were there in the first week of January with heavy traffic passing through but by evening the road was almost abandoned and apart from a few transports, quiet.
Meningie is a small neat village that displays great community pride.

Avoid this place at all costs
A putrid stench of sewerage was in the room in the morning.
We evacuated immediately as the smell was overpowering.
Contacted Management for right of reply. They denied all knowledge of it.
Avoid staying at this place!
In my opinion they should not be allowed to continue to operate, unless they fix the problem.
This place put our health at risk.
Very much regret staying here.

Thank you for your review on multiple platforms with varying complaints. Would you kindly return the bath towels you took from our property?
When the manager showed you the room beforehand, the level of cleanliness and scents seemed acceptable. It would have been helpful to alert management at the time to address the matter so that we could see/smell. The health inspector came and took photos of clear drains. The entire property was cleared in their report finding zero faults. We continue to deny knowledge of something that we nor the health department could not source. We continue to decline your late request for a full refund.

Friendly, comfortable and good value.
Very friendly and welcoming experience, and good value. Our room was clean and comfortable. Well located within walking distance of local eateries, and just across the road from the park and lake.
The only downside was that there was some noise from the bathroom next door.
I would recommend Lake Albert Motel for your Meningie stay.

Tidy friendly county motel
Lovely clean motel in the heart of town. Hosts friendly and very helpful with local knowledge. Had the kitchenette room would allowed for simple self catering as we had a longer stay. Some road noise, ask for back room if that would concern you.

Oh Dear , Very depressing Rooms but lovely receptionist.
This motel looks ok from the outside and the receptionist is super helpful . She happily answered all my questions about the town and gave good suggestions on where to eat etc , she was a kind and welcoming lady who cares about people.
The outside of the motel looked ok so I was very surprised to see how drab and worn out the interior of the room was . Very used , shabby and outdated , really way past time for the owners to spend a bit of $ and make some improvements. In the bathroom the vanity basin looked positively unhygienic with the multiple crazed cracks in the basin . Dirt had seeped into the cracks and I wondered how any self respecting business owner could offer that to paying guests. Because it was disgusting. The bathroom was just awful.
I very much doubt the nice lady in reception is the owner here . I was thankful in the morning to be able to leave early with the thought I will never stay here again. On exiting town on my way to Adelaide I noticed another motel I wish I had known existed , the car park was full of cars so obviously people know that there is a better place to stay . This motel had only 3 cars for the night.
Something the owner might consider , business is obviously there in the town if a motel is worthy of it.
So thumbs up for the kind and caring receptionist and thumbs down for the buildings owners and seriously poor condition of the rooms .

Thank you for your kind words about the receptionist. You are right the bathroom updates are required to be done by the property owner not the Leasee. As the Leasee we can only present what we can and we believe that most customers appreciate that.
We would love you to stay at the other motel on your next visit to Meningie, smaller rooms, older and ready to be pulled down, although it brings the people in because it is cheaper and directly on the lake.
