Such a pleasure to spend time at a comprehensively welcoming motel. The accommodation is comfortable, well-equipped, well-maintained and scrupulously clean. The nicely cooked breakfast in the attractive cafe on the premises was a bonus.

On arrival receptionist/owner said room fee was higher than fee listed on our hotels.com confirmed booking email. We showed owner email but they were not interested in our confirmed booking email or in helping resolve issue by discussion with hotels.com. We did persist with our point several times but not in a rude manner. We finally reluctantly agreed to their terms because it was late and we had no where else to go.
Later that night the receptionist's husband/owner rang me (accusing me of bullying his wife) in an arrogant, harassing and bullying manner and hanging up before allowing me to speak to tell my side of the event.
I rang back but again he was bullying and hung up before I could speak.
Talk about the Pot calling the Kettle black.
It was very disappointing that were unwilling to provide any assistance.

I would not recommend if you have a dog with you
Did not meet staff as we arrived at 9pm. I found it disrespectful when advised they needed to charge $50 for small (6kg) dog, total cost was $222 for the night. The bathroom had cracked tiles, mould and rusty shower head. The door did not seal, and made the room really cold, blankets inadequate for winter in that area. Sure, there was AC, but I am unable to sleep with it as I wear contact lenses.
Would not recommend this place if you have a dog - we have never paid more than $30 to have him in other places

Thank you for your review. We would like to clarify the facts of your booking, as our team actually went well out of their way to accommodate you.
Our property is non-pet-friendly. Asking if we are pet friendly when we clearly advertise we aren't typically results in a cancellation, but instead of turning you away, our team worked to find a solution. We placed you in a specific tiled kitchenette room better suited for an animal and clearly stated the $50 pet fee upfront. You accepted these terms and chose to keep the booking, yet our team had to actively chase you the next day just to get the required check-in information you promised to provide.
Regarding your comments:
The Pet Fee: Every property sets its own policies. Charging a fee for the cleaning required after hosting an animal in a non-pet room is standard practice. You were aware of the total cost before staying, yet never questioned it or declined,
The Arrival: Our reception hours are clearly stated. We provided a contactless check-in precisely so you could access your room at 9:00 PM without issue, making the complaint about not seeing staff irrelevant.
The Room Condition: We take maintenance seriously, and our team constantly check rooms and complaints like yours are rare or non existent as many guests use our rooms and have never had these stated issues.. Reverse-cycle air conditioning is the standard heating method for winter in this region, and extra blankets were available, stored in a clearly marked bag - blanket inside!
We bent our rules to make sure you and your pet had a warm place to sleep for the night. It is disappointing that our team’s flexibility and effort to help you out of a tight spot have been met with this response.

Stayed one night. Lovely staff and clean room. Slept well and was woken by water leak from ceiling to bed mattress. It was from heavy raining. Hopefully it’s fixed by now. Will stay again when passing through this town.

Older motel, nicely updated. Friendly staff. Be aware that the central courtyard car park is quite small. Not really suitable for SUVs.
