Amazing food

We have travelled round Victoria and southern NSW over the past week stopping off for lunch and dinner mostly in pubs many of which have rather ordinary food. Rather depressing really. Then we arrived last night at the Royal Hotel in Tumut.
Brilliant food. We had garlic prawns in rice which sound ordinary but fresh prawns, a lovely creamy sauce along with green vegetables was a delight. Just perfect. Then there was the Thai beef. Another perfect meal. And looking across at someone else’s burger made me want to stay in Tumut another day. Normally I don’t rave about food but this deserves all the praise it gets.

Not the best-cold food

Ordered salad instead of chips with my meal chips came no salad in sight , food was cold gravy was straight out of the fridge had to return it to be warmed up , the corn cob was so raw i couldnt eat it
Used to be great food this was the worst ive had woukd not return .

Zero stars if I could

By far the worst accomodation available for the price charged. $103 a night checked into room 5 and as soon as we entered could see a large hole in the ceiling see pictures, called reception and asked to be moved into another room they gave us keys for room 7 and there was smoke alarm wires hanging from the ceiling with no smoke alarm attached and a huge crack in the wall that connects with the other rooms so you can see into the room next door and vice Vera’s. Old 80s decor and chairs that have not been updated in decades this place should be ashamed it isn’t worth $50 a night let alone over $100 a night. I strongly suggest booking elsewhere it’s a safety hazard and how they have not been reported earlier and forced to close until they have dont maintenance and repairs is beyond me.

Good budget motel attached to a pub.

This is budget motel accommodation out the back of the Hotel. The room was clean and comfy, with the staff being really nice to deal with, had dinner in the pub Chicken with creamy garlic sauce salad and chips. A very nice and inexpensive meal.
My only issue was someone decided to whipper snipper the nature strip outside the window at 6:30am. But apart from that a very pleasant stop over for the night.

Meal toppers not the tops

Dropped in for a meal and ordered a Parma with a buffalo wing topper. Ended up with a schnitzel with wings that were so dry they were inedible. The Thai beef salad was just ok but didn’t really hit the mark either. Not recommended.
