Fantastic stay at Charlie's place

Our stay at Charlie's place was perfect! Charlie was proactive & quick to respond (consider how remote the location is with phone signal, he was excellent in communicating!). It was easy to arrange a volcano & John Frum tour with Charlie by message ahead of time. The driver, George, and guide, Malina, were waiting for us at the airport when we arrived, with a sign for us to see them. George carefully drove us everywhere (the best driver!), and Malina told us all about the island, culture & customs, and answered all our questions. Charlie's place is very clean and we felt very welcome in his home. The special guest bungalow is in a separate area with our own private bathroom & toilet. The bed was comfy, mosquito coils, lights, torches, towels & soap provided. We had a lovely fresh, homecooked dinner & breakfast. I highly recommend to stay with Charlie, his place & his family are wonderful! I wish I stayed longer!

The best place to stay in Tanna!

My stay in Charlie’s village was simply perfect! Right from the start, Charlie was super responsive and helpful. On my arrival at the airport, George and Malina came to pick us up. They were super sweet and helpful, they drove us around the island during our time there and navigated the bumpy roads near the volcano very well! The bungalow itself was perfect. It was simple, but had everything I needed and was very cozy. Charlie was even able to provide me with excellent WIFI, which had me surprised considering the remoteness of the village. Charlie’s wife cooked us delicious and filling meals for dinner and breakfast ( Do carry cash on you to pay for transport fees and meals!) Overall, I couldn’t have asked for a better stay. I was amazed by Tanna’s natural beauty, but even more so by the wonderful people that inhabit it. Charlie and his village were kind hearted and I felt right at home with them. Making the trip out to Tanna may seem daunting or hard to organize, but I promise you it’s well worth it, and you will get to experience it in all its glory by staying with Charlie!

Unique experience for nature lovers and volcano chasers!

A warm, Tanna welcome from William and his exuberant family! Our itinerary was packed with activities that made the most of Tanna's natural and cultural offerings. The bungalow is spacious, simple but adequate. The meals, fantastic local dishes. I loved the nearby beach and visited the volcano twice. Our host and guide is truly keen on giving his guests the best possible experience. A memorable trip in Vanuatu!

Real Tanna life in a small village with a very kind people that will make your staying unforgettable

We are a couple from Bilbao (Basque Country, northern Spain) who stayed in Tana on 14 and 15 August 2023. If you want a real immersion in the island life, you should definitely stay at Chez Nous. Managed by Charlie William and his family, the place is in a small village, and you can choose between independent bungalows or rooms in a small house, the accommodation is simple, bathroom and shower are not in the room and are communal, but it's all very clean and the beds are comfortable. There is electricity and you can charge your electronic devices with a battery that is provided at night and works very well. All meals are included and always cooked with local produce, which gives you an insight into the culinary culture of the island, and you are always asked if you are happy with the menu and if you want to add or remove anything. Charlie offers you the possibility of multiple activities including, of course, a visit to the volcano, but also to other very interesting places, he has a very well equipped 4x4 vehicle and a very experienced and professional driver, who is able to take you to any part of the island with absolute safety. Another thing that makes staying here unique, is being able to share some time chatting with the people who live in the village and with Charlie's own family which is very large, we learnt how they grow cassava with his mother, how they make kava (the local liquor) what things they care about and what makes them happy as well. Chez Nous can definitely offer you an authentic and unforgettable experience
