Relaxing Christmas Break
My wife and I stayed at S.V. Boutique Hotel for 2 weeks over Christmas and New Year and we enjoyed our stay.
The view from our balcony was spectacular, our room was cleaned daily, we had a big comfy bed and a separate shower and toilet. There was loads of storage space and a fridge to store our drinks. Free tea and coffee (but no milk) along with an array of toiletries.
There is a small infinity pool overlooking the sea, but there are only five sun loungers and parasols around it. However most people go out for the day and we always found sunbeds available. The pool is ideal for a cooling dip in the blazing Vietnam heat. It was 30° everyday we were here with no rain apart from a slight shower one afternoon.
The hotel is situated behind a lovely little coffee shop called Soho Soho which you must visit. There are steep inclines as well as steps to most rooms so be mindful of this if you have mobility issues. Also the hotel is a bit too far out of town to walk it, but a Grab will only cost you about £1.
The hotel serves meals all day but we only had breakfast here which caters more towards local cuisine, but there is an egg station where a lovely lady will make you an omelette or cook eggs however you want them. I used to bring my own yogurts in and pour it over whatever fruit was available while my wife had noodles and sometimes spaghetti bolognaise for breakfast!
All the staff here are friendly, helpful and always smiling. Special mentions must be made to Thaó, the young lady who greeted us at every breakfast with a smile, Huê, the lady who cooked our eggs to perfection and Trân, the lady on reception who help us through some language barriers with Grab drivers
All in all S.V. Boutique Hotel is a nice relaxing place to stay and we highly recommend it

Great location and breakfast! The pool has great view. The room need a little update but over all everything worth it’s price!

Staff was very friendly and helpful throughout the stay, which we appreciated. However, the rooms are clearly in need of refurbishment. The bathroom window had holes, and we found ants in the toilet area. There was also ongoing repair work in a building next to the pool area, which made it noisy during the day. Breakfast was average at best.”

Ok for a short stay
Unfortunately this hotel is up a hill and the rooms so not suitable for anyone with mobility issues
We had to check out
The room was stunning albeit needed a bit of painting done to bring it up to standard
The pool only has 5 sunbeds around it so your going to struggle if you want to relax
Also the restaurant is only open for breakfast and no other times and no bar etc
It was nice but had a weird feel to it!

Close to excellent; accessibility constraints held back a star.
Up front, you need to know that there are significant stairs to climb. Some are made of uneven stone, are outdoors, and get wet and can be slippery.
We were first given a room on the top floor but we could not stay there as it was too exhausting for us to climb up and down. A younger crowd will likely love the challenge.
The manager and staff were gracious and quickly moved us to a more accessible level. That was fine for us but this resort is not for everyone because of its setting.
That said, it is well worth the effort to stay here if you can. The setting including the challenges are part of this place’s charm. The views of the sea from the rooms and property are spectacular!
Breakfast is very good and a variety of fresh tropical fruit is served every morning, and you can have some dishes cooked to order.
The pool is awesome and looks like photo.
As with most places in Vung Tau, you may want to rent a small moto (shout-out to John’s Bikes), or take grab. There is a nice place for coffee plastic chairs along the small road from the resort near the pagoda, run by an energetic proprietor. Pro tip: her nephew is John of John’s Bikes and she can have it arranged to have a rental bike dropped off right there while you have your coffee enjoying the sea view.
