A stunning stay

I spent four wonderful nights here. Over the four nights the menus had been thoughtfully planned to give us a truly authentic Scottish dining experience. The flavours were stunning and produced combinations that worked really well. Every member of staff was extremely welcoming and provided excellent service. The long journey from the south was more than worth it. Thank you

Sanctuary in Scotland

Another fantastic stay at Mingary Castle. Eva was a knowledgeable, kind helpful and resourceful host. Nothing was too much trouble including the chilled breakfast in our room overnight to allow us to have an early departure to catch the ferry. Colin Nicholson has again stepped up the level of the food. The tomato salad with basil sorbet was truly amazing. As was the he shreded short rib with bone marrow crumble and the chocolate desert. Thank you for another memorable stay.

Stunning castle dining

Absolutely stunning castle to dine at. We had afternoon tea and the food was amazing. The professionalism and friendly service we received was outstanding. I would highly recommend and will definitely go back for sure.

A stunning spot!

My daughter and I booked a single night in this hotel as a special treat on our first trip to Scotland. After driving two hours on a sheep-lined single lane road through spectacular scenery, we arrived at this stunning stronghold. The hostess was eager to meet us as we were the evening’s last guests to arrive. She was friendly and helpful but also put us immediately at ease. The rooms were furnished with understated luxury. It is a really intimate property, with just a few rooms. This means your experience is private without being isolated. We enjoyed the multi-course gourmet meal prepared by the chef/owner. Be on the lookout for secret passages! It was truly a unique experience and I would love to return some day.

Perfect Stay In a Special Hotel

We stayed at Mingary Castle several years ago and decided to come back as it had been such a great experience. We had a two night stay during which time there was not one thing at fault. Beautiful room. The staff deserve a special mention, especially Jonnie who went above and beyond to make everything run smoothly. Exceptional. All the staff were incredibly lovely. The castle itself is in such a special location that, despite our weather not being great, you completely forget about the outside world and become incredibly relaxed. Now to the star of the show, the food! We are a couple of pretty committed foodies who spend a lot of time dining out in Edinburgh but I have to say that the food here really is exceptional. Each night we were rendered speechless at how good every dish was. An absolute joy. The wine pairing was fun and the selection of wines excellent. Loved the more relaxed vibe in the dining room this time. Keep up the good work folks! We will be back for more!!
