Will stay again with my slippers.

This place is very nice, central and the room's are very clean with a lovely sitting area out front. It also has use of a car park next door which is handy if you manage to get a space.
You do need slippers as the bathroom floor is very cold even when it is 28 degrees outside and I am hoping it was a single incident that the bedding felt damp and uncomfortable to sleep in.

Perfect for discovering Alnwick

Lovely alternative to a chain hotel and similar, if not cheaper, price.
Comfy well appointed rooms in very central location - would recommend

Disappointing- won’t be returning

I have stayed in this hotel before and we throughly enjoyed our visit to Alnwick. However, on our last visit in May I injured myself on the furniture in the room twice!!! Which left me injured. It ruined our weekend . I had fed this back to the hotel and they wanted. To put it “ right “ however now I have contacted the hotel they don’t seem too willing too oblige! As they offered a rate to revisit higher than one I could get on booking.com. As a result of me complaining and questioning this decision they subsequently barred me from rebooking for future visits.
If you have mobility needs or accessibility issues I would book elsewhere as it’s very hard to get around the hotel and furniture positioning makes it hard to get around room without injury. That was the experience in my bedroom 5 I’m unsure if other rooms are like that.

The concern raised after departure was acknowledged at the time, and a practical adjustment was made to the room in question. As a small, independently run guest house, we always aim to respond fairly and proportionately when matters are brought to our attention.
Where discussions extend beyond the original stay and into expectations for future bookings or outcomes, resolution needs to be approached proportionately and in good faith by both parties. Where that alignment isn’t possible, we may decide it’s not the right fit to proceed further.
For clarity for future guests, room layouts and furnishings do vary across the property. While we offer several ground-floor rooms and level access at the entrance, we are not advertised or designed as a specialist mobility or fully accessible property. Guests with specific requirements are always welcome to contact us in advance so we can advise appropriately.
We value the many guests who have enjoyed staying with us over the past 20 years and encourage travellers to read reviews in their full context when planning a visit.

Well worth a stay

Very high standard, high-quality fittings fixtures and furniture, excellent choice of drinks, biscuits and water in room.

PERFECT BASE IN ALNWICK TO EXPLORE NORTHUMBERLAND

We were staying Alnwick for 3 nights with friends and family and wanted 3 en-suite rooms within walking distance of Alnwick. We chose The Bondgate Boutique as it met all the above criteria. The rooms were clean and spacious and we were able to park in the car park of The Plough next door (narrow entry through an arch). We breakfasted locally each day (recommend Barter Books) and dined each evening in Alnwick. Alnwick is a lovely town with plenty of coffee shops, pubs and restaurants all within walking distance. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend.
