A quiet gem in the countryside

Very friendly welcome by Julie. Plenty of off road parking. Very interesting and quaint step back in time. The bedroom was well appointed with plenty of easy to find sockets, variety of lightly, comfy bed and pillows. I stayed in the double room with ensuite. Bathroom had a spacious good and easy to use shower. Everything was clean and inviting. Full breakfast was superb with eggs as I like and wonderful nutty wholegrain bread. I couldn't fault my stay and would recommend to anyone wanting to stay outside of Hull. Thank you Julie you made my stay a treat!

Absolutely stunning and relaxing

This really is how Bed and Breakfasts are all about. Beautiful, historic, atmospheric extremely comfortable spacious house with ample facilities. What stains on carpet.. absolutely none, unless someone is looking for non existent faults. This colourful house oozes charm,presence, colour and relaxation. Very spacious if you go single. Access to 2 lounges and garden. The dogs are absolutely delightful and are kept away from guest areas along with the cat. Beautiful feel good place and views. Garden centre next door and pottery centre down the road. The breakfast is fantastic and plentiful. Rooms are checked daily which is rare in most establishments these days. Pam is a delight and provides anything required. I absolutely love it here and have already booked twice more. Easy access to Barton, which is walkable also.
Just a shame these kind of establishments are rare these days, being replaced by bland , sterile, souless places. This place is magical and a stunning experience.

A wonderful host!

This was a place where there definitely was food for the soul as well asfor the body! Pam was the most amazing host and breakfasts were fabulous! I was here with a crazy retriever and nothing was too much trouble. Just a lovely little piece of heaven on earth and would go back in a second! Cannot recommend this place enough!

funky and delightful

This funky old farmhouse has been partially modernised and offers a good standard of comfort. Given its rural location it was relatively clean, though the stairs carpet was a little soiled. My room and bathroom weres a bit cramped, and the low water pressure necessitated some ‘manoevring’ to activate the shower. Host Pam was charming and breakfast was delightful: fresh fruit salad, an excellent veggie plateful and nice strong tea. The only slight drawback was that evening meals are not available, so you need to bring your own provisions or drive into nearby Barrow for supper. Most of all, the price is very reasonably priced. Pam has dogs, but keeps them well away from the guests, though this might be an issue for someone who is highly allergic to pets. Overall a very good find and well situated for those visiting Hull, Grimsby or Scunthorpe or taking the ferry to Holland, without the hassles of being inside a busy city.

Just peaceful

Pam the owner is fantastic nothing is a problem and her full english breakfasts are awesome, also lots of cereal to choose from and fresh fruit platter.
Rooms and bathrooms are ever so clean.
The house is full of character from moment you walk through the door a pleasure to look around.
Lots of lovely scenery all around must be great for dog walking.
We had two nights of peace and quiet felt quite chilled after a hectic week at work.
Will be back soon
