Beautiful Historic Hotel with Wonderful Service

This feels much more like something a real traveler would write:
We really enjoyed our stay at The Queensberry. The hotel has a lot of character and feels very Jane Austen-esque. Our room was quite large, especially compared to many other UK hotels we’ve stayed in, and the whole place had a unique charm you don’t find in chain hotels.
The staff were wonderful; friendly, helpful, and genuinely attentive throughout our stay. We also loved the little courtyard, which was a nice place to sit and unwind after walking around Bath.
A couple of things to know before booking: there are a lot of stairs, and most rooms aren’t easily accessible by lift, so keep that in mind if mobility is a concern. It’s also not right in the middle of town, though we found it an easy walk to the main sights.
The only reason I’m not giving it five stars is the lack of air conditioning. We happened to be there during a warm spell, and the room got pretty uncomfortable. From what we understand, most of the rooms do not have A/C.
Other than that, it was a great stay. If air conditioning isn’t important to you, or if you’re visiting during cooler weather, I would absolutely recommend it.

A small hotel with clear identity

We stayed at The Queensberry Hotel and it works best when you treat it as a base rather than a place to sleep.
The hotel is spread across several Georgian townhouses, which gives it character. Corridors shift, rooms differ in size and layout, and the building feels authentic. Our Junior Suite was spacious, with high ceilings and large windows. The seating area next to the bed makes it easy to spend time in the room. Comfort levels are where they should be for this category, with a proper bed and a well-sized bathroom.
Service is attentive and consistent without becoming formal. The atmosphere is calm. The location is practical, most of Bath is within walking distance, but the hotel encourages you to slow down.
The Old Q Bar adds value. It is compact but well put together, with a second room around a fireplace that gives it a residential feel. The drinks list goes beyond the obvious and cocktails are balanced and precise.
This is a hotel with a clear identity. It works because everything is controlled and consistent, not because it tries to impress.

A discreet,quiet and stylish hotel in 4 Georgian town houses situated just behind the Assembly Rooms and within easy walking of central bath. The bedrooms were comfortable and well furnished with excellent central heating/air conditioning. The service was immaculate throughout from being welcomed by name as our car drew up outside the hotel,to luggage being carried and stowed,to every question being answered and request met. We felt thoroughly at ease throughout the stay. A lovely experience.

Lovely hotel, brilliant location

Stayed on a Monday night during the hot weather. The hotel was very clean and welcoming. The valet parking was great, and the staff were lovely. Tea, coffee and iced water were most welcome in the lounge. Our room was great, the bathroom was down a set of stairs, which could be an issue for some. The weather was very hot, and the tower fan helped, but it was still warm, despite having the bathroom window open to ceate a breeze. Outside the bedroom window was noisy, possibly some sort of extractor fan which ran constantly, so e had to keep that closed. Breakfast was tasty, but felt a bit limited in the options available, without additional costs. We had the full cooked breakfast, which was good. It was a choice of that or two items on the continental menu. It would be nice to have options such as fresh fruit and yoghurt without an additional charge if you opt for the cooked breakfast. Over all a good stay, and we hope to visit again.

Our favourite hotel in Bath

We have stayed at the Queensberry many times. We like its quiet, central location, stylish, comfortable rooms and welcoming, helpful staff. The new owners seem to be running it just as well as their predecessors. We will return!
