Lovely and cosy stay

I regularly stay at The Half Moon Inn when I attend events in the area and always love it. Beautiful and comfy rooms, reasonably priced and the staff is always friendly. I especially enjoy the little coffee and tea bar and the super king size beds (if you book a suite) provide enough space for me and the kids. Can't comment on the food, but the rooms and breakfast are lovely. Would definitely recommend ♡

Not a good experience

This was not the best dining experience I have had, far from it.
On arriving at the pub, we were ignored by the staff for about 10 minutes while they chatted and one went off to the back of the bar. We eventually got settled into the seating. The menu arrived, the waitress was pleasant and friendly. She told us that one of the dishes was no longer available. We ordered something else. A few minutes later we were told that one of the dishes we ordered was no longer available so something else was ordered. A few minutes later, another dish we had ordered was not available. One of our party had fish and chips which was excellent. The rest of the meals were dry and indifferent.
When I was asked if everything was ok, I started to say no but the waitress walked away before I could finish a sentence .
Obviously they were not interested . We payed and left.
WE WILL NOT BE BACK

Hidden Gem

Very welcoming busy country pub. Service is excellent and the food is great. Great with the kids and could not do enough for us. Will definitely be back. The steak WOW all the dishes tasted amazing. Breakfast is a real winner here aswell.

First Class Pub

Lovely meal and stay at the half moon, food was first class, staff were really friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend. Nothing was too much trouble. A proper Devon pub with great character.

Quality food, well served.

Typical pub fare, with some notable daily specials. Food quality was very good, and the service levels matched the food. Definitely worth a visit.
