Excellent

There can’t be a better place to enjoy a golf trip.
Three wonderful nine holes every hole different.
Great accommodation and wonderful food.
A warm welcome from all members of staff nothing too much trouble.

Overall, a great - and very enjoyable - break.

Spent a Friday to Monday on a 3 night, 4 round golf break in August 2026 as part of a group of 8 guys from my golf club in Bristol.
Hotel room was clean and comfy with the only downsides being no Aircon (but a fan was supplied) and occasional hit and miss water pressure in the bathroom. The hotel was around 100 metres from the clubhouse and the courses. All the staff l came across were friendly and efficient. The food (breakfast and evening meal) was really good - and there was lots of it !!
In the 4 rounds we played a various mix of the 3 x 9 hole courses. All presenting a good challenge
With the heatwave weather, the tees and the fairways were really suffering (very dry and dusty) but l found the greens to be in very good condition - and very fast and sloping !)
Some of the bunkers left a bit to be desired (some had patchy depths of sand and some were quite stoney) but with over 100 over the 3 courses l guess you can't have every one in top condition.
Overall, a great - and very enjoyable - break.
Would l go back ?
YES - but probably in the Spring or Autumn when the courses will - hopefully - be in better condition.

Excellent, golf, food and accommodation!

Our 15th trip here as a small group of girls. It’s always been excellent but even better the last couple of years as the lodges have been invested in. The golf is great and the club are very accommodating of societies with mixed abilities. Food is very good, evening and breakfast. Great selection of beers in the restaurant. The lodges are big and spacious with en-suite bathrooms. Staff are always friendly, helpful and welcoming. We left today and booked straight away for next year.

Bunker Hell

my wife and I played the golf course on 21st May and was what we would call a “Chalk and Cheese” experience . The greens were in fabulous condition and obviously receive a lot of care and attention. On the other hand we felt the bunkers were probably some of the worst we have ever encountered on any golf course we have played. Shabby in experience and sand looked more like builders gravel, if you went in one then virtually no chance of getting out at first attempt. My wife spoke to a couple of lady members after our round and commented on the poor state of the bunkers and they immediately remarked it’s been a major source of complaint for some time but nothing had been done about it . It’s a shame because everything else about the club was great, helpful staff and we had a very good lunch but based on our bunker experience would not come and play the course again as it fell well short of our expectations for a course which has previously received such a high rating.

Overbooked overpriced course very poor condition

We played there on May 2 26 as a small society the facilities and the staff are excellent although the golf course is definitely not worth £65 virtually every tea box we were teeing off on dirt and the greens were really really poor definitely not worth the money and definitely not a championship course overall very disappointing
