Had a nice stay, all staff very friendly and caring, had a great massage with my partner, very relaxing.
Rooms a bit hot but its a heat wave what do you expect ?
The outdoor pool was a nice treat to cool down in.
Romainian Barman very professional and flawless at his job
Special mention to michelle the lovely lady in charge of the restaurant, expertly handled a coach load of old biddies whilst attending to us seamlessly. #vinegar
Shes a credit to the place......pay her more!
Paige was also lovely and im sure she will go far....look after her
A little side note the chef in the kitchen needs to leave his little bell alone, one ring will do it, not 6/7 each time it sounded like christmas bells.
We will be back im sure

The lift was quirky and not for the claustrophobic.... Several times when I used it to go downstairs there were no lights on only glow of lift buttons ...spooky and unnerving
Breakfast was tedious....the one waiter took ages to serve people and book them in. I had to ask him twice to serve me The crossaint was slightly stale, orange juice not nice, smoked salmon and scrambled egg was garnished with some withered pea shoots, the tea was not particulary nice.
The whole place looked very tired and stuck in the late 1990s.....outdoor courtyard hard loose flag stones, foyer indoor fish pool had exposed pipes, a strange mixture of not very well for live pot plants mixed with plastic plants many draped with cobwebs in communal areas. Landing areas hand many empy picture frames interspersed with covid notices which made the place seem a bit clinical/hostel like/uncared for.

The room and the bed were big, which was nice, but the general look of the room and the bathroom was just okay. Clean, but not pleasing. The hotel looks good in some parts, but other parts are outdated or new and cheap. The pool area felt cut off from the hotel and run down. The pool also didn't feel heated. It was too cold to enjoy, even on a sunny day in July. House keeping skipped our room, which we didn't get any real apology or explanation for. I wish there had a least been a mini fridge in the room. It was a fine enough base for a good price to explore Bideford and the surrounding area, with the bonus of having good parking, but I would consider something closer to the center next.

Friendly and definitely well worth a visit
Wow, what a pleasant 5 night break I had. So much so I rebooked before I left. The staff are so friendly . Antony , Julie and Mary and all reception staff were exceptionally helpful. Missing you already The waiting staff were lovely and worked extremely hard. Carol in the bar was the entertainment I think . The food was of a very good quality, the breakfast was amazing. Housekeeping staff were kindly and proficient. My room was clean and quiet overlooking the courtyard.
I had a few treatments in the R & R Spa and Richelle did an amazing job, sending me home more chirpy. I used the outdoor poor and the whole experience gelled together making it a pleasant experience and I need not have worried travelling solo. There are bus stops outside the hotel.

Terrible!
Very very disappointing! I don't know how they expect anyone to stay in one their single rooms. Don't be fooled by the photographs on here, some of the rooms are not fit for purpose. No drawers to put your clothes in...apparently they got rid of all the drawers some time ago ( that came from the manager) There was no mirror in the room, but they had the cheek to say they could lend me a hand held vanity mirror. My room was so hot as it was next to the Sauna, but the worst thing was the window wouldn't open as there was a large television on the window sill....not that you would want to look out anyway as it was a dump at the rear of the hotel. Parts of it are very dated and lifeless, the dirty old chandeliers in the dining room look as though they've been there since Methuselah was a lad, it's very depressing! There's just one rickety old lift to accommodate everyone to each floor. You know what....if you're brave enough book it ....but if I was you just swing by and find another hotel.
