We had a pleasant stay
only negative was Deliveroo etc don't deliver to the hotel,obviously this is not the hotels fault,there is a petrol station,Burger King and Starbucks nearby and Burgess Hill area seems to have takeaways and shops.We did order room service was a little pricey but food was tasty.
I was worried about the negative reviews but we had a pleasant stay apart from hubby being ill.

Its ok
The atmosphere Its a very quiet area so you are definitely able to relax
The room itself there is a small amount of plug sockets and you get plumbing noises from the bathroom so I didn't really sleep that well its a good size room but the shower isn't really fixed into the wall that well
Its good value for money as you get breakfast included
Its nicely cleaned
It was definitely short staff there as you only had one person doing the bar and reception. The bar definitely needs to be a little bit bigger its very small and small selection of drinks
I had no issues with the staff they was very friendly

Poor customer service
We left early as the festival we were attending was cancelled due to an incident on site.
This left two days paid for that we did not use. Whilst I understand my booking may not be refundable I see no reason why they could not refund the £52 we paid for breakfasts that we did not have.
The hotel’s response was the terms and conditions do not allow refunds on prepaid bookings.

Disappointing that there was no hot water AGAIN!
Is it coincidence? I'm not sure but I think the Hickstead Hotel owners need to invest in a new boiler.
I have emailed the hotel but not received a response. It's very disappointing as you do expect to be able to have a hot shower and not a freezing cold one!
Would we return? We would definitely think twice about staying here again sadly
It's a shame as the staff there are all really lovely and welcoming.

We completely understand how disappointing this must have been, and a hot shower is a basic expectation that we failed to meet.
