Awesome

Went with my wife for 2 nights and had breakfast included well what can i say apart from this hotel is awesome loved it hotel was nice reception staff friendly and polite has a day im the pool aswell which is a nice little one steam was good aswell the breakfast was awesome! beach 5 minute walk down the road shops around the corner town square everything you needed really we will be back again soon loved this hotel

Poor furnishings and room quality

Such a tired hotel. My hotel room standard was very poor. Paint coming off walls, poor quality towels and the state of the kettle. I travel a lot and it’s my first time here, it will be my last.
My colleague had a more modern room but mine was awful - room 223. Stayed for 2 nights and I was glad to check out.
My one ⭐️ rating doesn’t apply to the staff though. Tia on the bar is your jewel in a very tired crown. There was also a mature lady who did breakfast and was on the bar in the afternoon - they were both excellent but I can’t see past your poor fabric standards.
Lastly, for a so called 4 ⭐️ hotel, the breakfast was poor in my opinion.

We weren't asking for much

We have just returned from a few days at this hotel which we have stayed in before . Although it's a bit run down in places and has some noisy plumbing we quite liked it and probably would have stayed again . We had booked 2 nights but on the spur of the moment booked an extra night Fri July 17th . So we decided to get the train to Weymouth for the day while we were there we were informed we had an incident back home and decided we couldn't stay as my partner was really worried about the house . We asked if we could have a credit note to stay on another occasion. We asked the young lad at the reception who whilst being apologetic informed us computer says no . I know they were under no obligation to do so but we weren't asking for much we paid for the room after all . It wasn't costing them anything . I don't know if any managers read these reviews but take some advice sometimes you have to give a little to get something back in return . We would no doubt have booked extra days with our " freebie" so Durley Dean you've lost out we won't be returning anytime soon .

very poor

for the price of £350 per night room not clean and out dated dust every where and not just the day before dust this was a long time build up no free parking or breakfast sauna not working A/C did not do much for the room
no fridge beds very old and not nice to sleep in.
at this price i would expect much better
staff very nice especially Sandosh at front desk he was a top man
if the price was not 350 and around 150 each nigh i would no be leave such a bad review.

Spa day that isnt

Had a ‘spa day’ today to celebrate my birthday with my daughter.
The spa day consisted of a dip in a small pool that was too warm,
no aircon, nothing else to pamper or relax us, quite the opposite. No treatments in offer, the sauna and steam rooms were out of order. How can it be classed as a spa day? False advertising
The aircon in the bar was not working, very tired decor, threadbare carpets, shabby upholstery, yuk! Afternoon tea was un exciting, 2 scones, some sandwiches and boring sponge square cake or chocolate tart. Not a spa day at all, I don’t want a voucher to return cos I wouldn’t want to. Oh and we had to pay to park there! Not a great birthday treat
