Comfy guest house

We stayed one night at the Bude Haven Guest House while hiking the South West Coast Path. It's conveniently located in a quiet part of the town, only about 10 minutes from the next beach. Our room was really homely and tastefully decorated, with large windows bringing in much light. The sanitary facilities were absolutely fine, with only the door separating the bathroom from the proper room being a bit awkward to use. Breakfast was great, with an adequate choice of cereals and the complete range of a Full English. Dinner was unfortuately not available during our stay but the owners directly pointed out various delivery service options as alternatives. Service was also absolutely fine, with the owners being very friendly, courteuous and easygoing. Would definitely book this again.

Been closed for months

Closed down. We found this out via Trip Advisor the night before we were to travel.
We got an alternative accommodation to stay and thought we would check out Bude Haven whilst down there. Yes indeed it’s shut and looks like it has been for a while.

Hotel closed

This hotel has closed down, sadly it is still bookable on various bookings sites including this one. This hotel should be removed from all booking sites as it has closed down. We had no notification of this closure and only found out on our arrival here

Shut Down!!

It's Shut!!!! We were booked into The Budehaven on Saturday 8th June. Rocked up to a handwritten note on the door saying they'd closed permanently due to financial pressures!! I feel for them, but it would have been nice to be told pre-arrival so we could've found alternative accommodation!!.

Dreadful

It was dreadful, we should have taken note of the previous reviews. The dining room looked like some time ago they had a themed night. Old silk flowers hung from the ceiling. There were crumbs and bits on the floor on the first day, and they were still there (added to) as we left. The breakfast was nice but they ran out of mushrooms on the last day, and as I only ordered three things this was disappointing. There was dust everywhere, including the hall and stairs. The bedroom was very plain and very old. The sheets were very good quality. There was no water or biscuits in the room at any time, two towels in the bathroom and I do not think at any point during the four nights we were there any staff came into the room, not even to empty the bins. There was a large dead spider in the shower curtain, and about 6-9 inches of mildew on it. I would not go in. Even after negative reviews no changes to improve the Haven had been made. The owner was helpful but totally disinterested in the place. I would be surprised if it is still open next year, we should have asked for a refund, at £110 per night, overpriced.
