Awful and sketchy
When we arrived we were checked in by a friendly receptionist who showed us our room and gave us the door code to our shared dorm with 4 beds (there were 4 of us). When we walked in we realized we had been completely catfished by the photos on booking.com. It had a huge pile of dirty laundry in the cupboard, the other cupboard had bags of pasta and sauce. Why would the hostel cleaners remove other people's left behind belongings? There was also a Zimmer frame, a bottle of bleach, gaffa tape and a photo of Adele in the room? As 4 females we of course felt extremely uneasy from our findings so we immediately started worrying. We then realized how dirty the surfaces and beds were. It felt like there had been someone living in the dorm and they had left for the night so we could stay. We felt so unsafe that we actually booked into another hotel down the road. I would NOT recommend here if you are a female, especially if solo travelling.

NIGHTMARE - BEDBUG - NOISE - SALETE - RUN AWAY!!!
Bedbugs were infesting every bed.
Room not cleaned or tidy since the last occupant.
Horrible noise coming from a generator under the window.
No light or electricity in the room after 12:10, when the generator stopped.
We had to evacuate the room and try to rest a little on a sofa at the reception. (With two guys coming from the street).
We left at 2:30. We couldn't take it anymore!

DISASTER
DO NOT BOOK THIS! Do not get tempted by the nice pictures, this is by far the worst place you can choose to stay in Cardiff.
I was given codes for check-in and when I arrived just before 8pm, the front door code did not work and there was nobody in reception (supposedly manned from 10am to 10pm). Luckily, another guest was leaving and I got in the building. Climbed to the very top and arrived in the room. The place was damp, smelled stale, there was an old very smelly mattress in the cupboard, the floor was dirty. windowsill sticky, armchair wet and questionable, there was signs of mold and rot on the walls. I went to check the bathroom to find it completely flooded with an inch of water all over, but no water in the tap or shower. I then discovered no electricity. I called the number provided and was told this is being handled. Before leaving the hostel for the evening, the electricity and water did briefly come back on, but when I returned later, there was no water again. In the morning, before the reception desk was open, I spoke to another guest who had been staying at the hostel for 3 weeks and said that it had been this way the whole time. I ended up paying for a gym membership to have a shower and use the toilet elsewhere. The customer service is awful, the receptionist acted like it's all no big deal. When I reported that there is no water in the morning, they then switched the power off too, to "reboot". I decided not to risk staying the second night, packed up and left. I guess I can consider myself lucky not to have been bitten by bedbugs. Having seen the standard, I wouldn't stay there again even for free.

Bed bugs infestation!
Do not use this place for somewhere to stay! We booked to stay here in March then we seen recent comments about the place having bed bugs, we contacted the place and asked for a refund, they confirmed they had bed bugs however they didnt have bed bugs in the room we had booked so we weren't allowed a refund. I have contacted the place on various occasions through booking.com and had no response until i phoned.

Go somewhere else
Location was excellent but that was the only positive. It was incredibly unclean, both the rooms and bathroom. It was clear the rooms did not get at the very least vacuumed or tidied up. The bathroom was unclean with urine on the floor and a broken toilet seat. The water was turned off the morning and evening before I left and the morning I left and when asking reception about this they claimed nothing could be done and didn’t offer any money back or compensation.
