Overpriced

On arrival we were escorted to a building across the road. So not actually the Balmore Guest House as pictured on Booking.com.
Room was small but had a dressing table & chair. Only that one chair was provided.
Good hanging space in wardrobe.
Room seemed clean enough with clean bedding.
It stopped there for us.
Decor was trippy and bizarre but that wasn't what put us off.
There was barely any hand soap left in the dispenser.
Only one cheap toilet roll provided and barely anything left on the holder.
A towel each was provided with a sachet of combined body & hair wash. I expected for Edinburgh there would be individual bottles or dispensers with separate body wash, shampoo & conditioner - it's standard now!
Tea tray was the bare minimum with just tea/coffee sachets & mini UHT cartons.
The shower was crying out for a good bleach, so both my friend and I never used it.
With the things we found and current tired state of the room it's not worth the price point. Especially as there's no breakfast included and you have to vacate by 10am.
It's also a 15 minute walk in as there's no free parking. It's deceptive as the picture looks like there is a car park outside it.

“Bed Bugs, Noise and Unhelpful Management”

I stayed at Balmore Guest House in Edinburgh with my family for two nights, and unfortunately it was a terrible experience from start to finish.
The room conditions were unacceptable. We discovered bed bugs, which made it impossible to sleep properly and left our skin itchy and irritated throughout the stay. On top of that, the windows did not seal properly, so we could constantly hear noise from outside during the night.
What disappointed us even more was the attitude of the management. When I politely asked for the bed sheets to be changed because of the situation, the manager refused and said they would only do it if we paid an extra £20 per bed. I found this completely unreasonable considering the hygiene issues we were already facing.
I would strongly advise others and families to avoid this place at all costs. Our stay in Edinburgh was badly affected because of these conditions.

Terrible

One of the worst places I have stayed went with my daughter and pregnant partner the bedding was not clean had hairs all over them them the room was so hot the floor felt like it was on fire the heating pipes for the whole hotel must have to have been under the the room had to leave and book another hotel no refund avoid at all costs

ORRIBLE, AVOID IT

Very bad accomodation place!
Booked a triple room for 225€/night (!!!), got a small double room with 3 beds. Absolutely tiny, with no space to storage the luggages or even open them!
Not possible to open the window cause it was stucked by the bed.
Matresses absolutely orrible.
Toilet sink broken, water coming out from it.
And final gift, a 12€ fine caused we left the room few minutes late.
FOLKS, AVOID IT!!!

SCAM

A shame and a siege scam!! We paid in advance (Booking) and when we arrived nobody opened the door! After 15 minutes the rudest guy came to open us asking us 50€ more to stay. We had to give them to him because we had already paid there the night and it was too late to look for another place, he kept them in his pocket and he left. The site is dirty and a full-blown scam for tourists
