Good location for the Piece Hall with cheap parking across the road. Rooms are large but slightly tired but all reflected in the cost. 5 mins walk to the Piece Hall and the centre of Halifax

Avoid

I am staying there for a concert, paint all scratch off on furniture, yellow pillow and blood/ snot stain on it not sleepable, smells

Awful

Check the room before you pay. The only positive thing about this hotel is its proximity to the Piece Hall, our first room had dirty pillows, a mattress that didn’t fit the bed and holes in the curtains. We were upgraded to a suite….it wasn’t much better, other than clean pillows and 2 towels. I suspect they have opened to take bookings for people going to gigs for the summer. I’m all for good value when all you want is a few drinks and a bed for the night, but I really would think twice about staying here. Check the reviews, it hasn’t been open to the public long….

Overall okay but wouldn’t be my first choice and probably won’t stay again.

Overall, the property was reasonably clean and offered a decent breakfast area. While some staff members were helpful where possible, the overall level of service did not feel particularly professional or attentive.
Unfortunately, we experienced several issues during our stay. Upon arrival, the bed in our room was broken, which was disappointing. We had specifically booked a room for one adult and one child, requesting two single beds, but were instead given only one bed. The hotel was unable to accommodate our booking requirements or provide a suitable alternative.
In addition, the property advertises accommodation for early arrivals and late check-ins, yet this was not honoured during our stay. Communication was also poor, as messages sent through Booking.com went unanswered. Bed was broke as well when we first arrived. Shocking!
Overall, I would not choose to stay here again. The hotel would benefit from improvements to room quality, cleanliness standards, overall security, and customer service.

Poor cleanliness in bathroom. No bin anywhere in the room. Shower chord broken, would have been difficult to operate. Bathroom door did not close properly. Cheap flimsy plastic poorly fitting toilet seat. Mattress too small for frame. Pillows paper thin. No reception on TV. no blind in bathroom. Breakfast facilities not open at 8.25am but wouldn’t have risked eating here. Seriously overcharged at £119 per night. Put poor communication with staff as there was only someone there at check-in. Someone was opening the shutters as we left but they didn’t ask about our stay at all, so decided to review instead. Poorly decorated, unfinished decor, cracked tiles in bathroom. Poorly draining sink.
