A great welcoming local!

Proper friendly 'local' which made us as holiday makers feel very comfortable. Great food menu including a 2 x main course deal which we took advantage of and a carvery on a Wednesday night which was an added bonus. Good beer garden and well looked after ales - the Timothy Taylor Landlord was superb. The staff were genuinely warm and lovely hosts.

Definitely not Italian tapas.

A first time choosing from the “Italian” menu, launched recently. We’ve always enjoyed sitting in the beer garden as a lovely atmosphere and visited last week to find it busy and vibrant.
The Bull has picked up The Valleys regulars due to a more inviting atmosphere, more relaxed . and you can easily find your way into the pub unlike The Valley pub where you have to navigate around the outside of the pub to find the entrance. The Valley bar staff are always welcoming and the stars of The Valley pub.
We ordered a mezze of tapas as a light dinner. We have been to many Spanish restaurants, and enjoyed tapas in the UK and in Spain. Whether a Spanish restaurant, a UK pub/ restaurant, we have enjoyed a variety of tapas.
The calamari sticks were fine, but as strips rather than in rings. The bruschetta should be: classic tomato bruschetta, dice 1.5 pounds of ripe tomatoes, remove the watery seeds, and toss them with 2 tablespoons of extra-virgin olive oil, 1 minced garlic clove, fresh basil ribbons, and salt. Let it marinate, then spoon it over grilled or toasted bread rubbed with raw garlic.
The sautéed prawns lacked an oomph of garlic, and the fingers of bread should have been toasted. Plenty of bread, not toasted, in a basket and accompanying the tapas. No need for the salad decorating the tapas.
Very friendly, polite staff and served our tapas with a smile and friendliness.
Such a shame to see Pinocchios restaurant area empty and only two tables full in the bar area, eating from the Italian menu.
I wish The Bull well and Pinocchios restaurant, as it has a lovely atmosphere and great staff and landlord.

Fabulous

First visit but won't be our last. Fabulous food and excellent service from our wonderful waitress who sadly we didn't get her name but she was friendly, cheerful and helpful, definitely made it a great experience

Great value meal

We popped in for lunch today and had a great meal for a tenner each. It was nothing fancy but very tasty, fresh and substantial.
It's great to go into a pub for lunch and not have to pay evening meal prices.
I noticed on the menu that sandwiches, salad coleslaw and chips were just £6!
Excellent!

Drop in visit whilst on holiday in the area.

It was a very wet Monday at the end of September. After getting soaked walking the dogs we were looking for somewhere warm for lunch and The Bull was one of a few places open. We had a very warm welcome and chose a table near to the cosy log burner. All lunchtime meals are priced at £10 and there is a fair selection. My wife chose cannelloni whilst I had ham, eggs chips and peas. Both meals were large and really good value for the money.
