Incredible dinner

The food!! Oh yes! Absolutely beautiful, I had the pork steaks in peppercorn sauce, not something I would normally order but it was world class! Loved it! Staff were sooo helpful and happy, great atmosphere - my only complaint is I don't live closer to this wonderful restaurant and beautiful county!

Beautifully presented and tasty food

We went to the dial inn last night. It was bright and cheerful and the staff were polite and friendly. We had children’s burger, fish and chips, Welsh lamb and peppered pork steaks. All the food was beautifully presented and hot and tasty. Can highly recommend a visit.

Poor & slow service. Disappointing poor quality meal. Meagre vegetable portionportionsy

We booked our table 2 days in advance for a Sunday roast at The Dial at 2pm. On arrival we were told they'd run out of beef , very disappointing. Other diners told us they'd run out of beef much earlier. Everyone in the restaurant had booked a table so they should have been prepared. We accepted an alternative & ordered drinks & water. 15 mins later I had to go to the bar & get the drinks myself. 45 mins later our meals arrived......minus the Yorkshire puddings...they'd run out of them too!! As for the meat ..it was ok. As for the vegetables..we couldn't get a fork into the roast potatoes, we had 1 thin sliver of burnt parsnip each, 1 slice of carrot each, a small dish of peas with a few shreds of cabbage, & a small dish of creamed leeks ( more cream than leek!) to share between 3 people! We complained to one of the waitress's who was disinterested to the point of shrugging her shoulders as she walked away. We then asked to speak to the manager, who turned out to be another waitress. We waited for our bill for 15 mins before taking our drinks into the garden. Eventually my husband had to go back inside to pay our bill, & gratefully we received a discount on our drinks, which was something, but we will definitely not recommend The Dial to anyone..there are plenty of other great restaurants in this lovely area, tried & tested to give great service & far better quality Sunday roasts. FYI be very careful if you're coeliac..even if they'd had Yorkshire pudding they would not have been able to provide gluten free for one of our party.

Lovely country restaurant with bar, serving fresh, tasty food

Dined in the evening on 1st June. Lovely building and interior, friendly staff, short but varied menu (I like shorter menus because food tends to be fresher and not frozen), tasty food, good service, great value. I had calamari to start, Welsh beef steak and dauphinoise potatoes and my wife had Welsh lamb chops with new potatoes, plus vegetables.

Poor food

We ate here July 2020 on two separate occasions, both times the food was excellent, I had booked in two nights for dinner at the end of July this year 2021 only to discover the dial inn has new owners, the menu was the same but the food was definitely not poorly cooked and presented .I informed the staff how poor the meal was for all four of us they said they would try and rectify it but I can spot a sinking ship when I see one.
