Superb for Leeds Station!

Leeds Central Travelodge is absolutely fantastic - a very easy 4 minutes walk from Leeds Station... although part of that walk features 2 flights of steep stairs and a well lit walk under the railway tracks.
We were really impressed by the welcoming reception area and the friendly staff member who checked us in.
Our room was spotless, comfy but incredibly HOT even though there was no heating on. The hotel provided a fantastic machine which cooled the air, as well as providing a top sheet instead of a duvet on the bed. I would not have liked to be here in a heatwave.
Because this hotel is right by the approach to the station - rooms facing the tracks are incredibly noisy even with the window shut. You've got trains braking to approach their platforms, and a lot of platforms too.
It's a fine balance between noise and the incredible 4 minutes to the station.
Opposite the hotel is a fantastic CO-OP which we used and were very impressed by - excellent prices if you are a co-op member.
We didn't eat at the hotel so can't comment on that.
Although it is noisy, we will definitely stay at this hotel again purely for the sheer convenience of its location.

The hotel needs to be fully maintained

Best budget hotel I’ve stayed in.

Obviously the 5 stars I’ve rated is relative and in comparison to other budget hotels this is indeed nowhere near a 5 star hotel however Having stayed in a few budget hotels and indeed a quite a few travelodges I can honestly say this one is by far the best. The room is immaculately clean, the staff are friendly, smiley and helpful. The location is fantastic for exploring the city centre and very close to the railway station as a result there is some noise from passing trains which is no fault of the hotel. The beds and pillows are very comfy and apart from the odd loud lager lout in the halls coming home late and loud (which can be expected of any budget hotel in a city centre) we had a wonderful nights sleep. The hotel has a deal with the multi storey car park next door which means 24hour parking is only £10 if you validate the ticket at reception and also worth a mention is the fantastic Thai restaurant Chaophraya which is practically built on to the hotel and is well worth a visit.

Very noisy hotel, hot and didn't sleep at all. The staff were hard to approach and not helpful at all.

Cheap for location

Good
A great location in the centre of Leeds City a couple of minutes walk to the train station and local amenities, also I booked this at a very reasonable price for its location.
Some staff were very good and polite
Not so good
Reception lady needs to go on a course to speak to the public, she saw me approach and just continued trying to wipe the stains from her trousers, when she eventually spoke she just said “Name?”
The property could do with updating as plenty of dinks and paint missing in corridors. Dirty Stains on the walls in the bathroom, mould around the bath itself.
The worst thing for me though was the gent who was in the restaurant assisting with breakfast who walked outside just in front of the restaurant for a cigarette and then came back in and carried on as if nothing had happened not even washing his hands.
