Did not stay at the hotel The restaurant

Called in for food
Steak pie and chips
Chicken schnitzel & chips
The menu stated should have had asparagus none arrived.
The chips where horrendous appeared like they had been cooked 4 times we both could not eat most of them.
Steak in the pie is usually tender it was tough, and only just warm, I could pick up the pie dish in my hands, with a steak pie dish, you cannot usually do this. I have to say the worst meal I have ever had.
Toilets not very clean, no hand soap in one of them had to use the dispenser in the other toilet. So glad not staying at this hotel.

Freindly and professional

Last minute booking but a very good experience and only for 1 night. Food was great and the welcome was lovely. I'd stay again in a heartbeat. Thanks to all.

Very uncomfortable stay.

We recently stayed in room 14 at The Bull Hotel. We arrived to chaos as apparently the computer system was down so they had no idea which room to put us in, finally deciding on room 14. There was a heatwave and our room was up 3 flights of stairs, after opening the first door we were greeted by a strong smell of stale smoke & pee! The room was like an oven & although a huge window, the small top window only opened about 2 inch’s, there was a small fan. The furniture was creaky, old & dated, wi-fi was non existent, we had one stained cup & the room wasn’t touched or re-stocked in the 3 nights we stayed. The linen & towels were clean though,we also had people come into our room on the first night!! Don’t bother with breakfast either as there was not much choice & definitely nothing healthy on offer. Parking was an issue as car park was crowded. We were very disappointed as it wasn’t cheap (approx £400) for 3 nights without breakfast. The positives are it’s in a good location & the exterior of the building is lovely but that’s all. Definitely wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

The lady who checked us in was pleasant, polite and helpful. Rescuing me when I couldn't find our room. Signage to our room number would have been an advantage.
The building is old, so no lift. We had a room on the top floor. The toilet was slow to fill, which eventually stopped working by the morning. The shower had great pressure, but no cold water to cool it down, so could be dangerous. We reported both at reception the next morning. Good size room and comfy bed. Bikes felt safe left in car park.
No breakfast included, so used the pink cafe across the road. No food being served the night before as a party booked. Plenty of take a way places to choose from in the town.
Staff when we left were not as conscious as the lady the previous evening.
