The perfect camping.

Second time visiting. And again they have excelled in their hospitality. My daughter was asked what she wants to do for her birthday, and she said she wanted to camping in Wales. Situated close to her great grandparents it is perfect for us to camp and see family.
Upon arrival staff have managed to place us next to friends who were joining later in the week. And then as is expected in summer, the wasps appeared. Drawn to the sap from the willow tree we were surrounded by. With the kids we asked if there was any possibility of a move to a different pitch. Not only did staff figure out a way move us they helped move the tent and offered bacon rolls for the inconvenience. Something that they did not have to do.
On the subject of food. We only sampled the breakfast, and my word it was good. So good people come here just for the brekkie. And good value for money, with a beautiful coffee to go with from I believe is the Welsh Coffee Company, but I could be wrong, and served by friendly helpful staff. And while eat and drink the kids can play in their excellent kids park.
But this is what I’ve come to expect from Acorn, friendly, helpful staff, excellent amenities, top quality food, and a ten minute walk to the beach. What more could you want.
We will be back next year. Thank you to all the staff.

Disappointed!

We visited this campsite a couple of years ago and were really looking forward to going back. It is still a nice place to visit, a lovely spot, the cafe is great and there is lots to do and see in the area. However, the toilet block was a huge disappointment compared to our last visit, it is now in desperate need of refurbishment. Some areas were really dirty with mould on the walls and it was a bit smelly! The showers had lots of hot water but some didn’t work very well at all with the water coming out in a dribble not a shower in one of the ladies showers. It’s a shame that what should be a really lovely place has been let down.

5 Star breakfast!

Amazing cafe with brilliant food and friendly staff. Super clean and comfortable.
Food was 5 star and very good value for money. Lovely outside area and well kept gardens.

Excellent

Lovely campsite , nice warm showers that are free ! Beautiful scenery and Ogmore beach is great for dogs . Highly recommend and will return.

Fantastic little spot, comfy and cosy shepherd's hut

Myself and 3 children (under 10yrs old) stayed in one of the shepherd's huts, it was clean, comfy, had all of the basic essentials you could need. Each hut has their own little bbq ( all you need is coal) and a 2 ring gas hob with gas is also supplied. Toilet and shower block very close, laundry and washing up facilities in there also. Some other guests didn't leave it clean after themselves but that's no fault of the staff, plenty of cubicles to use. Lovely warm welcome, fab breakfast in the cafe and the girls working in there are super friendly and helpful. Great little playground for the kids, including a section of climbing wall. The site is pleasant, very clean and quiet. Approx 20min walk from train station, small supermarket, and short drive to beaches. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and already looking forward to returning!
