VERY helpful and friendly staff, great check in experience. The hotel is really close to Paddington station, so very handy for transport.

24 hour stopover in London
1. Great location; very close to Paddington Station which is the terminal for the Heathrow Express and has a number of Underground lines. It is walking distance to the West End and other areas of interest.
2. The staff were so helpful. I arrived at 7am from Heathrow after a long flight. They managed to check me in which meant I could shower and then go exploring. The hotel also has baggage storage facilities which I used after I had checked out.
3. Spring Street has good eating places.
4. The hotel was clean and tidy.
5. The hotel offered compact rooms for a very reasonable rates, which was ideal for me as I was staying 1 night.

Very nice location, close to everything and Paddington station - so much to see / do around. Staff was very helpful, place was clean. Room was a little hot (no ac or didn't work well) but it was perfectly fine. We enjoyed our stay. 2 rooms connected - four of us total - family with 2 kids (18 & 17)

Room paranoia. Useless manager.
An incident occurred during our stay which significantly affected our experience. I am awarding 2 stars, primarily because the air conditioning was functioning well.
Our first impressions were positive. The gentleman at reception was polite and kindly stored our luggage before check-in.
Unfortunately, the lift was out of service, which was inconvenient when carrying suitcases. As we made our way up the stairs, the age and condition of the hotel became increasingly apparent. There were cracked walls and worn carpets with visible damage. While some wear and tear is understandable in a budget hotel, there are reasonable standards that should still be maintained.
After checking into our room, we had been there for less than ten minutes when a member of housekeeping entered without knocking. At the time, I was lying on the bed without clothing, trying to cool down during the heatwave.
I found the incident both embarrassing and upsetting. I immediately contacted reception to raise a complaint and was informed that the manager would contact me.
After waiting for approximately an hour without receiving any response, I went downstairs to speak with the manager directly. Unfortunately, I found her attitude unhelpful and dismissive.
I explained that the situation was unacceptable and appeared to demonstrate a lack of communication between staff members. As paying guests, we are entitled to privacy within our room, and this should never have occurred.
Although the manager apologised, my request for a partial refund was declined. No alternative form of compensation or goodwill gesture was offered despite the distress and embarrassment caused.
As a result of this incident, we felt both uncomfortable and unsafe for the remainder of our stay. Knowing that someone had entered our room without warning left us concerned that it could happen again.
We found ourselves constantly watching the door and anticipating further interruptions. The situation caused significant anxiety, to the extent that my partner placed our luggage in front of the door for added peace of mind.
Given the impact this had on our sense of privacy and security, we ultimately decided that we could not continue our stay and requested a full refund. A refund still not received.
I made it clear that I would be leaving a review of my experience. Based on this incident and the way it was handled, I would not choose to stay at this hotel again.

Shortly after you checked in, you came to reception very upset, claiming that a housekeeping attendant had entered your room and found you naked in bed. We apologised for the incident. You requested a partial refund; however, this was declined. Instead, you were offered a full refund on the condition that you checked out immediately.
The reason for this decision was your unacceptable behaviour and the language you used towards our staff. We do not tolerate such conduct and, in situations like this, we believe it is best for all parties if the guest leaves the premises. You also attempted to intimidate another guest who was simply checking in, for which we had to apologise on your behalf. You stated that you would leave negative reviews, so we are not surprised by your comments.
Despite your description of how poorly you felt you were treated, you should take some comfort in the fact that you did not have to stay at the property and that the full amount of your booking will be refunded.
Your partner was absolutely lovely, and the refund process was explained to her, as she was the lead guest on the booking. As the reservation was made through a third-party agent, the processing time for the refund is unfortunately outside of our control. We approved the refund as soon as we were contacted by your booking agent. If you would like an update on the status of your refund, please contact them directly.
We have also spoken with the housekeeping attendant involved. She confirmed that she knocked on the door before entering and stated that she did not see you at any point.

Very good value for money
We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. Its biggest advantage is definitely the location, which is excellent and makes it very easy to explore the area and access nearby attractions, restaurants, and transportation.
Another highlight was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Everyone was welcoming, attentive, and always willing to assist with any questions or requests.
The hotel itself is rather simple and could benefit from some refurbishment and general maintenance in certain areas. However, considering the price paid, we felt that the overall value for money was very good. The excellent location and the quality of service more than compensated for these minor shortcomings.
We would gladly stay here again and would recommend it to travelers looking for a well-located hotel with a friendly atmosphere and reasonable rates.
