A DISGRACE. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE
I checked in yesterday late afternoon. Had an initial good experience. The woman in the front desk was nice, the room was decent. Then the night came and, in less than an hour in bed, I found a bed bug! Then I started to see little ones too. I went to the reception at 2am and I couldn't find the woman, Mali. Not only she was sleeping, but she said she didn't have any free rooms and couldn't do anything until the morning and closed the door on me while trying to get an explanation. This is unacceptable behaviour. They lack of immediate protocol and they tell me to go back to an infested mattress.
I had to go find another accommodation in the middle of the night because I was met with a closed door. I didn't spent a full night and had to look for somewhere else. I expect a full refund for this disgraceful experience.
The room can look clean at first sight, but please, if you do end up here, check everything, every single corner. You'll find hair, crumbs and debris all over the floor and shower. Corpses of bugs in the bed and, if you're lucky, a visit from alive ones!!
Avoid at all costs.

Our recent stay at this hotel was nothing short of awful
We arrived to find… no one. Not a single staff member in sight. The front door was wide open and the reception desk was completely unmanned. But don’t worry, we weren’t alone for long. A few homeless folk wandered in to help themselves to the complimentary coffee and water. Clearly, it’s an all-inclusive experience (just not for paying guests). The lobby floor was decorated with a generous sprinkling of crumbs which immediately gave us low expectations for our room.
After 20 minutes of standing around in disbelief, we called the number provided only to reach the elusive “housekeeper” who informed us she wasn’t anywhere near the property but had kindly left our key card under a plant. Brilliant.
The room was a tribute of neglect. Dirty paintwork, a bathroom that looked ready to give up on life, and a TV remote covered in a thick layer of dust. The floor hadn’t seen a hoover or mop that day and if we hadn’t already paid, we would’ve left right then and there.
Just when we thought things couldn’t get worse, the following morning the housekeeper called to say that oops - they’d double booked our room and we’d need to move to the basement. Yes, the basement. Since our Uber to town was minutes away and the basement room wasn’t ready, we had the joy of packing up our belongings and hauling them to our car until we returned in the evening. I spent the entire day with a knot in my stomach hoping it couldn’t possibly be any worse than our original room.
Surprise! It was worse. The hallway to the basement smelled like something had died and nobody had the energy to deal with it. The floor was revolting with dust and debris everywhere. Upon entering the basement room, we were greeted by the smell of damp and mildew. There were cobwebs hanging from the ceiling, cellar spiders crawling around and hairs left in the shower room the previous guest.
The room held two twin beds, but I ended up sleeping in the same bed as my partner because there were so many cobwebs above mine. I was so upset and uncomfortable I would’ve driven the 4 hours home if I hadn’t had alcohol with my dinner. It’s safe to say we departed at the crack of dawn the following morning.
This was hands down the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. Lack of staff, lack of cleanliness, lack of safety, and a complete lack of care for guests. When booking this hotel we unfortunately didn’t pay attention to the trip advisor reviews as the booking.com reviews were fairly good. Don’t make the same mistake we did and save yourself the stress. £350 for 2 nights stay and the hotel did not reflect this in the slightest.
