Can definitely recommend
I was here for the third time this year.
It's in the countryside, in a small village. There are lovely walks to go on and places to see. In the B&B, the room I had was plenty big enough, with enough room to unpack my bag and enough cupboards/drawers to put things away.
The bathroom and shower are en suite, and everything is very clean. The bed is very comfortable.
There's a road going past the window, which in the early evening is quite busy, but at night it's quiet, so there are no problems sleeping.
Breakfast is wonderful, individually prepared and delicious.
Everyone sits at one table for breakfast. I had my doubts at first as I'm not the most sociable person, but even with an initial hesitation, we've all had some very interesting conversations with different guests from various parts of the world.
Victoria has a folder in each room with suggestions of various walks, how long (ish) they take and how difficult they are. All is described in detail. You can take a copy with you on the walk or (like I did), take a photo of it to check along the route.
There are a couple of stately homes to visit, not too far away, but I didn't do that; I was just there for walking.
There's a small car park, so the car is off the road and not too visible from the road either, which is a good feeling.
The ONLY thing I would like is that the room has some kind of net curtain, even if only over the lower half of the window. If the traffic is stopped outside (only happens - maybe - in the evening), and there's a bus, they can see in the room. But it's also easy enough to briefly draw the curtains if you're going in and out of the bathroom, maybe not fully dressed (!!) So not really a big problem
There are a couple of pubs within walking distance where you can have a lovely lunch or dinner, or just a drink. Or take the car and go further afield. I don't use my car at all there; for me, everything I need is within walking distance. The walks and scenery are spectacular.
I can highly recommend it and will probably be back there next year.

Would highly recommend. Very thoughtful and considerate host
Had a wonderful stay here for two nights. Rooms and beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was great with lots of options - and Vicky went out of her way to cater to any dietary requirements (gluten free). Good location for walks in the Peaks directly from the doorstep. Would highly recommend.

Well worth a visit. Great location. Friendly host.
Had a lovely couple of nights here. Victoria looked after me very well and had many helpful tips for getting the best out of the amazing location. Also really enjoyed socialising with the other guests, who were all quite friendly and like-minded.

A good Experience
We have just come back from a 2 nights stay at The Old Station House. We went for the Dance Festival at Bakewell, such a lovely Day out. The Location is just handy for what we wanted as we wanted to go to Bakewell and also Matlock. The room had everything we wanted and if we had needed anything all we had to do was ask Victoria and she would have helped. It was very clean and the breakfast was lovely .
Victoria went above and beyond..as I forgot to ask to put my Wine back in the fridge and she did it for me and left me a note..It was like home from home. Very friendly.
We will be returning for the Christmas Markets ..no hesitation at all.

A wonderful weekend at this charming B&B
We had the most wonderful visit to this charming B&B run by Vicky. Vicky was the perfect host - attentive when we needed her and leaving us to it when we just wanted to chill. The location is absolutely perfect for walking and access to Chatsworth and surrounding countryside. And the breakfast! Wow. Set up us for the day. Thanks Vicky - we will be back!

The Old Station House is the second house on the left immediately after turning onto Chatsworth Road from the A6. It has a white conservatory on the front and a B&B sign above the front door. The entrance to the car park is 40 metres further along Chatsworth Road, bordered by a lamppost and a bus stop. If you are coming from Chatsworth along the B6012, follow the road through Rowsley until you pass Hinckley Court on your right and then our car park entrance is immediately after the bus stop on your right. The house is 40 metres further along the road towards the A6 junction. Standard check-in time is between 16:30 and 18:00. Outside these hours the staff may not be available so, if you would like to check-in at an alternative time, please contact the property in advance and they will do their best to accommodate your request.
