Great breakfast

We stayed for one night, the hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful, we booked the all you can eat breakfast and it was excellent. All the hot food was piping hot and there was lots of choice of cereals, fruit, toast, yogurt and a good range of hot drinks. I would definitely recommend.

Dilapidated but good location

Even for Travelodge this hotel is in bad shape, it is extremely run down with stained carpets and peeling paint.
On the plus side the staff were really friendly and helpful and it is only a short walk to the city centre

Fantastic Service

I arrived late at night and was welcomed by a lovely gentleman named Dan. He was extremely helpful and went above and beyond to take care of me and others during my time there - whether that be a checking-in or serving food and drink to customers.

Sleeping in an Oven would be cooler

I booked room 906, top floor, of the Travelodge Nottingham City hotel whilst visiting to watch 3rd Cricket Test match. I know the temperatures were extremely high but when I walked into my room is was absolutely roasting hot. All it had was a single small fan trying to cool it down, windows were sealed so no air at all, even the warm air outside was cooler than my room.
Asked at reception if there was any other room that was cooler and got a big no and told there was nothing they could do. So I was stuck, having paid over £400 for an oven. Not once did I get under the sheets or wear anything at night, the fan on a chair next to my pillow all night to try and keep cool. A wonderful experience and on checking out the young lady didn’t even ask if my stay was satisfactory, hah!
This hotel is very tired, in desperate need of modernising. If it is even slightly warm outside DO NOT book this hotel, seriously.

It is close to the 1100’s as you will ever be!

The Travelodge in Nottingham is just a two minute walk to the oldest pub in Britain, this is where the Crusaders met in the 1100s.
You can have the authentic experience of the 1100’s by staying at the Travelodge in the summer. They have NO AIR-CON. The rooms are very hot and airless.
I tried to check out immediately after discovering that I had booked into a furnace room, but there was one overworked person dealing with 15 other people so checking out immediately had to wait.
“there should be a fan in your room” I was told. And it’s true, there was a fan in the room.
It was a small portable fan that sat on the desk and did nothing more than move the stale furnace air around a little bit
Packing up to evacuate this $#¡+ hole, I was drenched in sweat and deliriously angry.
In a way it does give the authentic experience of the Crusaders — so if this is important to you and you want to be sleepless, drenched in sweat AND angry, I absolutely recommend Travelodge in Nottingham!
