Terrific Bunkhouse

We arrived on a bike packing off the Fishnish ferry. It’s an amazing place in a lovely setting overlooking Loch Aline. Really clean rooms, simple but very comfy bunk beds, lovely sheets and towels. En-suite shower room. We didn’t cook but the kitchen and dining area looked well stocked and a great space. Highly recommend. Best value out of all the places we stayed.

Fantastic place to stay!

We stayed here for 4 nights in May, as we were diving in the area. It's a brilliant place to stay, the cabins are clean and comfortable and very well thought out. The communal kitchen/dining area was kept spotlessly clean by the staff and is well-stocked with all you could possibly need to prepare a meal (bring your own food, although there's an honesty shop in case you forget!). Fantastic views across the water from the bunkhouse outdoor seating area. The staff were friendly and helpful, and always just a phone call away if they were off-site. Thank you to Fee and Frazer for doing our air fills so quickly! We'll definitely be back next year

Highland Basecamp 5 star Hostel featuring the friendliest village

A wonderful Haven in Scotland with a 5 star rating from us.
My friend and I had been planning our trip to Scotland for approximately two years. We finally made it and drove all around Scotland.
We arrived in Lochaline , ready to cross over to Mull , when disaster struck . Our van broke down just before boarding the ferry. A very kind young gentleman who was directing the vehicles onto the ferry assisted .
We were now stuck without a working vehicle.
Lochaline turned out to be a true highlight of our journey. The recovery service took three days.
We found out from the locals a place to stay. Highland Base Camp. Genuine care and hospitality in our time of distress. they provided invaluable help and advice, ensuring we felt safe and supported.
beyond the hostel, the people of Lochaline were equally remarkable. From the young man directing vehicles onto the ferry to the friendly locals we met throughout the village. everyone offered kindness and assistance.
I can't thank the team at Highland Base Camp for turning a traumatic situation into the most heart warming and memorable part of our trip.
Both Fraser the manager and Dave were amazing. They both worked very hard and welcomed all who stayed in this hostel. Beautiful , clean accommodation, with all that a person could need on their stay.
They arranged a boat trip out to see the sea eagles.. wonderful!
Without hesitation , we give Highland Base Camp hostel a five star rating and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a welcoming supportive place to stay

Cooking for a group of 13, with everything you'd need, twice!

Wow a week's work cooking for 13 scuba divers, who were all brilliant, made a lot easier with the fantastic, well organised kitchen facilities. Double of everything so other guests can still use all the facilities. Spotlessly cleaned every day. A comfy bed and hot shower and scenery that makes you want to stay and work longer!

Customer first for sure!

Everything on this establishment's excellent website is actually "factual". How often can you say that? I could list all the attributes of the accommodation, but you will find them all there. The proprietors here have done something that is fairly rare. They have put themselves in their customers shoes and looked at every permutation of need and tried to provide that. Very impressive. Customer first appears to be their ethos. Even their notices on site are written in such a way that draws you in, making you take the info on board. Observed others guests and all seemed to be really enjoying the facilities. Great job Highland Basecamp and what a glorious place to locate with the ferry to Mull on your doorstep. I'll be back for sure!
